This game barely works, if at all. Sometimes I get a permanent black screen when trying to start, other times it gets stuck on a permanent loading screen. Textures look bad, sometimes assets don't render so people/body parts are missing from scenes. Was really excited about this game and am very disappointed.

Until Dawn is easily my favorite horror game of all time. The way it blends interactive storytelling with real consequences makes every choice feel intense. The characters feel real, making it even more painful when they die. The butterfly effect system keeps you on edge, knowing that one wrong move can change everything.
The atmosphere is pure horror perfection. The isolated mountain and eerie mines create constant tension. The sound design is chilling, every creak and whisper adds to the fear. The QTE's (QTE = Quick Time Event) add even more intensity, forcing you to react fast or risk losing a character.
I also love how it embraces classic horror tropes while feeling fresh. It starts as a slasher story but takes a terrifying turn with the Wendigos. Their design, movement, and the panic they cause are unmatched. The mix of decision-making, exploration, and QTE's keeps the gameplay engaging and stressful in the best way.
Until Dawn is a masterpiece of interactive horror. Its gripping story, intense atmosphere, and nerve-wracking QTE's make every moment unforgettable. The butterfly effect system ensures that no two playthroughs feel the same, keeping the tension high from start to finish.

Did my first complete playthrough in 17 hours, playing exclusively on the Steam Deck. There were some intro cinematic scenes that lagged and toward the last couple chapters starting at Emily's mine exploration, there was some lag at the end. Otherwise, mostly out of the box with HDR on, the game ran fine. The lagging did not impact gameplay or quick choices to determine how the story unfolded. For this reason, I would recommend it to those who only habe the option to play on Steam Deck but are worried it won't run or work. It's definitely playable from opening credits to end credits.
This is my first interactive horror story game of this kind, though I did find it similar to playing Syberia in that the characters move fairly slow, the story is already mostly set but your choices change how things happen. There aren't puzzles but there are clues to collect over 3 different mysteries the kids face on the mountain. There are fast action buttons during intense scenes and choices regarding dialogue or direction. The music is awesome, the characters are fun, the two twists I came across were awesome and my ending was exactly what I needed. I do recommend playing your first playthrough blind. I'll give myself time before going back and trying to get the different achievements I missed, and I do need to do an everybody dies playthrough.
Overall, 8 out of 10

As a new player, who has never played or seen the old version, this was a fantastic game. It felt like all my choices mattered. It was allways worth exploring to find clues and totems. It was really intense to play as you felt like you could die at any time. This was way more scary and intense than any other similar kind of game i've played. 10/10 from me.

A complete technical mess. I don’t know what they were thinking with this. Feels like you’re playing Until Dawn in an extremely early stage of development (no, I’m not joking), which is the polar opposite result of what a remake should be. Ugly textures, light appearing through characters, pop-ins, graphical anomalies, desyncing audio, horrible mouse movement. The list goes on. On top of this, every time you boot it up, it’s a roll of the dice whether it crashes or freezes and this happens seemingly at random during any session. The game won’t even run in full screen. Honestly, this is the worst optimized title I’ve played in recent memory and I strongly caution people think twice before purchasing this, because it’s a scam.
This is modern gaming. Pay the premium and receive a lazy, subpar, half-ass mess. Thank God for Steam refunds.

♥︎ One of my favorite games—finally on PC! ♥︎
I’ve waited years to play Until Dawn on PC, worth it! If someone tells me they don’t like this game on a date — red flag alert! 😂
Pros:
✅ Masterful horror storytelling – The plot is gripping, blending mystery, action, and psychological thrills into one wild ride.
✅ Spooky atmosphere & jumpscares – The game nails tension, keeps you on edge.
✅ Perfect for horror newcomers – Even if you usually avoid horror, Until Dawn balances terror and levity brilliantly, keeping you hooked without overwhelming you.
✅ Choices matter
Cons:
- Graphical hiccups – For a "remake," it’s odd to see texture glitches and occasional visual bugs.
- Pricey for a remaster...
- No sprint button
- Character pathing issues – characters occasionally block your way.
A must-play for horror fans!
