there is the makings of SUCH a good game here the art and shit is amazing and it looks so good roguelike elements and stuff but the combat and overall gameplay was boring as hell and got repetitive pretty quick if ya loved the comics like i did youll enjoy on sale but hopefully a sequel creates more dynamic gameplay cuz hellboy kicks ass

I've never been so whelmed by a roguelite (though this is more action game with roguelite elements). Definitely get at a steep sale if you just need to get it for Hellboy aesthetics
+ As shallow as it is the combat feels great, punching shit into a wall is very satisfying
+ Art style's cool I guess
- The first half of the game is too easy then becomes a bit of a slog because progression is slowed down massively by ballooning upgrade costs
- There seems to be a definite optimal build, and none of the perks synergise particularly well with each other
- If you don't like a room reward/starting perk there is no way to re-roll it making RNG a bit of a dickhead
- The camera is very close in on your back which can be a little annoying

The only roguelike I like! I love the graphics and the gameplay too. Very satisfying to get cool combos on the monsters.

This is an odd little game, but it's different and the combat is fun once you settle into it in a Super Punchout kinda way. The rogue-like elements could be more impactful and it's not always clear how to counter some enemy attacks, but loop is satisfying and the art is great.
