After the latest update, loading gets stuck at "Loading game mode." forever. Until this (and the multitude of issues other people seem to have since the update dropped) is fixed, I'd hold off on buying.
Instead of AAA we got a B tier co-op game
Maps are less linear than your typical co-op shooters. The vehicles and some class abilities are too overpowered making the game trivial. Back 4 Blood was a better designed game. While Toxic Commando is fun to play for short sessions, there is not a lot of depth so you could get bored easily. Low Recommendation

Bare bones game, How do you go from Space Marine 2 to this. Or even the fact that they never even learned from World War Z when it was released and it was completely dead from a lack of content. This title has less of everything compared to World War Z 1.0 they learned nothing from the issues of other title nothing is really enjoyable the grind is mind numbing for what little it has to grind for, runs are way too long for the reward. They will have to rehaul the game just like World War Z to maybe get players back, but I do not think this game has enough to really salvage.

I've only played solo and I am having a lot of fun, the bot teammates hold their own pretty well. My only complaint is they should wear the outfits we pick for them. I would love full loadouts, weapons and skills, but would be more than happy with cosmetics.

The battle pass is awful. As usual, they’ve taken the worst of the worst; tying specific weapon types to difficulty levels, locations, and enemy types is a design choice on par with some of the stratagems in *Space Marine 2*. Your game isn't good enough to warrant living in it, and naturally, you haven't given a thought to people who can only play a couple of hours a week. I used to enjoy logging in because I knew the content wasn't going anywhere, but now I see no point in spending even twenty minutes on something that will be taken away at the end of the season just because I’m not enough of a hardcore grinder.

Here's the thing, this isn't a bad game worthy of a negative review, by standard metrics. It's just disappointing and light on content. No, grinding out dailies and seasonal objectives like "Kill a nuker with a shove," to unlock what is just another form of a battlepass's skins, is NOT worthwhile content. This is disappointing in the way that, did Saber learn nothing from World War Z? From Space Marine 2? This game takes so much from those previous titles, and yet, is also somehow starting from square one, again? Maybe on a technical level, TC is kind of impressive from a gamer standpoint, and that is that the few hordes you're up and personal with, are all actually there, and not paper, invulnerable gifs waiting to transition INTO a shootable zombie. Every zombie you see, you can shoot (I'm pretty sure). I think, you should wait a full year before investing in this game, as with all their other games, it doesn't actual feel complete, until a year later. Which is honestly just baffling how all their games feel like early access until exactly a year later. -Tangents aside, token-Marvel characterization, unfortunately all pretty cliche, none that interesting. -I don't understand the voice acting direction- again, very "comedic" in tone, but they lack tangibility and urgency. -Graphics are, okay? Everything looks okay? (But is "bad") It's just disappointing seeing Space Marine 2, and then, this. +Gameplay is WWZ but first person, but it is more punchy than WWZ I think. +Soundtrack is catchy~ at times -Severe lack of content, there isn't that many maps, they're "replayable" and nothing amounts to grandness like WWZ or WH:SM2 does -Loading takes ages if your PC is older or weaker -Gun modding leaves a lot to be desired, (Yes I'm coming from a CoD background, but there's obvious choices to the best guns and their attachments and there's too few here) -Skills/Classes are powerful, but has clear balance issues with what's actually useful and what isn't I really hope the game comes into it's own- more characters, more maps, defo more guns and attachments, more classes- this is a good baseline (for "early access"). There's more thoughts, but I can't remember them right now~ a lot of negatives yeah, but I think it's just a very mediocre, OKAY 6/10 game. Burn off a couple hours with friends, it's not too expensive if you want a decent experience.

Toxic Commando is exactly what I expected it to be: a co-op zombie horde shooter in the same vein as Left 4 Dead and the many games it inspired. The biggest difference is that it feels a bit more open in its level design and includes vehicles, which add some variety to the usual formula of moving from one objective to the next while fighting off waves of enemies. Like most Left 4 Dead-style games, the gameplay can become repetitive. You're essentially completing objectives, fighting hordes, and repeating the cycle. That said, I keep coming back to it because I enjoy the progression system. Upgrading weapons and abilities gives me something to work toward and helps keep the gameplay engaging, even after replaying missions multiple times. Currently, the game features only eight levels, not including the tutorial. While that isn't a huge amount of content, the higher difficulty settings provide a solid challenge and add replay value for players looking to test their skills. The final level also hints at a continuation of the story, which has me interested in seeing where the developers take the game next. I'm hoping future updates add more weapons, abilities, vehicles (tank would be nice), and enemy types. The foundation is there, and expanding the content would go a long way toward keeping the game fresh over the long term. I honestly don't understand many of the negative reviews. Anyone familiar with the genre should have known what they were buying. Every Left 4 Dead-style game can feel repetitive if you don't enjoy that type of gameplay. If you found games like Left 4 Dead, Back 4 Blood, or similar co-op horde shooters boring, then Toxic Commando probably won't change your mind. From a technical standpoint, the game has been excellent for me. It runs smoothly on high settings, and I haven't encountered any bugs or major issues during my time playing. Overall, I'm enjoying Toxic Commando and look forward to future updates. If you enjoy co-op zombie shooters, don't mind replaying levels, and like the idea of teaming up with three other players to mow down massive hordes of zombies, I can easily recommend giving it a try.

Saber is a strange animal, they make great games, but they are doing the Arrowhead thing where they drop a release, but clearly didn't test it very well. There is a whole host of new bugs and it makes the game very frustrating to play. For example, the new pistol is completely broken, I have had to reload it, go through the entire full reload animation, up to 4 times before I can fire it again... I I just reload it with empty batteries(magazines)?! Then another time I was driving the squad in the Maverick and for no reason we all just died, car was at like 79% but we all were dead and fell out, we did get hit by 1 nuker, but they have never even gotten close to one-shotting me in a car, let alone boots on the ground, so that couldn't have been it. There is a bunch of other things, but those 2 things made me quit playing this title. I like Saber a lot, but between this and Space Marine 2, they make some dumb decisions, then in 6 months they fix it. They are doing the Helldivers 2 thing where they drop a cool update, but didn't test it but then fix it later. This mentality kills my interest. Plus they make weird like added new invisible walls, like why? Let me enjoy the game and be creative with the tools I have and environment. If you come in to this game as a brand new player, there is fun to be had, but once you start to get into it and understand the mechanics, that's where that line begins to blur into frustration, because they aren't consistent, some of which as stated above. Proceed with caution with this one. If they fix the game, I will revise my review, I have very low tolerance for this release broken stuff then fix it later that has become the norm in gaming. I'm over it.

Once you finish the campaign it is hard to find the urge to keep coming back. It is a shame because I love the core gameplay loop but the levelling up everything isn't very fulfilling. So I just don't think it is worth the price right now but if this is anything like world war z and space marine 2 in 2 years there will be a great game with plenty of content
