It's minigolf, and it's 4D. If you enjoy minigolf games and/or find 4 spatial dimensions interesting to navigate, then you have a clear idea on why you'd enjoy this game.

4D Golf is the game that really made higher-dimensional space click for me. It does an excellent job of really giving you a good hands-on experience with a 4-dimensional world, and then builds on that with a challenging but fun experience that forces you to get familiar with the space.
The game is quite fun and I look forward to what the community does with the engine.

Couldn't play for more than 10 minutes. Tried very hard to actually enjoy this but it was genuinely unplayable. Controls are also awful.

Very fun for anyone who is interested in the 4th dimension, the volume view mode is especially helpful!
The final levels are particularly mind-bending while still being doable.

I knew I was at least going to find this cool just because I'm a nerd and it's impressive to have actually made a real 4D game. But I was pretty pleased that on top of being technically impressive, it's actually well designed and genuinely fun to play. Of particular note is that the control and viewing options they give you make it quite easy to navigate the 4D courses, to the point that you could honestly probably make it through the whole game without even really having a good mental model of how 4D "works". Which I think is cool! And the right way to do it IMO, because it keeps the game fun and lets you sort of gradually explore the concepts as you play.
But on top of that, the visuals are fun and aesthetically pleasing, and the courses themselves are interesting and have a nice difficulty curve. Pretty neat!

This game makes me want to throw up, cascade down a flight of stairs and cry in my bed for multiple hours. 10/10 would recommend.

I've really enjoyed *trying* to get my head around this. I still don't see in 4D, I just kinda see the game world as being two 3D worlds that I can manipulate with my controller to get things to line up just the way I want, to get the ball where I want it to go. I don't think I'm visualising 4D properly, but I do have an innate sense of how the game world works at this point. I don't even have the language or logic to explain how I know how it works, I just feel my way around. The tools the game gives you make it achievable also - the ability to zoom out, the volume mode, and the ability to switch to wireframe outlines, and the handy "focus hole" button. This is a very impressive project, and I'm glad I found it.

It's really fantastic as a tool for understanding 4D, and I fully and confidently recommend it on that basis alone. As a puzzle game... let's just say it's often extremely rage-inducingly frustrating, but never because it's 4D.
Whenever I got stuck, it wasn't because I was hopelessly lost and blindly fumbling around - it was because I already had the "aha" moment of understanding what was happening and where the ball needed to go, then failed 15 times at getting the ball out of a slippery banked gutter or across a BS halfpipe jump, and got so enraged that I could no longer focus on 4D navigation, and so became hopelessly lost and started blindly fumbling around. Yes, skill issue, but if I wanted to build skills with unreasonable "challenges" that are arbitrarily difficult for the sake of it, I'd be playing Trick Shot Simulator, not this.
All in all, if you're interested in higher spatial dimensions and want to get a taste of what it's like to experience them, definitely give this a try. If you also happen to enjoy fake difficulty in games and repeatedly grinding at unfair roadblocks, this might become your favourite game of all time.
