I had a lot of fun despite all the dying and I didn't even have to bring a huge greatsword with me. Didn't get through the entire game as I didn't have enough time but I got through 3 chapters before being gated by the coin requirement. Using the walls in this way was very refreshing and the levels kept me engaged thinking about how I best could use the walls to my advantage. Luckily most of the levels are quite short so dying is usually no problem as you don't lose much progress. I definitely recommend picking this up if you have an evening to spare.

Fun and simple but challenging. Can be quite frustrating. Not recommended for people who are not patient or have anger issues.

Art's very cute but the controls responded inconsistently (at least on keyboard) and overall just felt uncomfortable to use. Don't know why there is an "options" menu when there are not really any options within it to change? Volume control was the only thing that could be modified. Couldn't keybind W as jump and had to use the default (space), which was annoying. Even with the short amount of time I played, it was 90% guessing if going a direction was going to kill me and completely restart the level or not, with no way of knowing until I did it. May revisit it with a controller sometime to see if it's any better, but I own similar games with better controls so maybe not.

Jumping Cat is a decent, albeit simple 2D Platformer. The game took a little over two hours to complete 100%. This game is again, a decent base. But I feel like there could've been so much more here. Most of the traps in the game are slow, and are often just re-skins of each other between worlds. The controls are my biggest gripe with the game, with the main character controlling extremely erratically in the air. You'll start out moving fast after jumping, then drop like a stone towards the second half. Many of the levels also feel like repeats of other levels, with similar concepts and trap layouts. For $3, its fine. It'll keep your attention for a few hours. I hope the developers are able to iterate more on this game in the future with a sequel/spiritual successor. If not, even just polishing up the game they already have could go a long way.

Very simple and chill game. The jumping feels a bit floaty and your character's fall accelerates deceptively fast, which can make precision platforming difficult, but in most cases it's not an issue. This game is mostly easy, with a forgiving difficulty curve near the end and a surprisingly hard gauntlet of a final level. It was short but I enjoyed my time with it. 100%'ing this game is as easy as collecting all coins on all levels. It adds a couple of challenging detours to some level, but it's very doable.

Played / Completed solely on Steam Deck. Game ran perfectly, no hiccups. While looking for a new platformer to play on my steam deck while on the train to work, I came across this gem on a game. The art design and the music are beautiful, you forget that you only paid $2.99 for this game. The levels are all very well thought out and get progressively more challenging, especially if your trying to complete 100% of the achievements. I have heard mentioned in other reviews, that the controls could use some refining. I don’t necessarily agree, I agree the controls are a little easy to mess up. But I also feel that adds another challenge to the game, and I actually liked it. If your looking for a cheaper platformer that you can pick up, and put down this is your game.

pretty sweet game. It's got some minor control issues but overall it's a blast to play. The graphics are on point and the level design keeps things fresh and exciting. I've been hooked on it for hours and I can't stop playing. The background music is also great, it adds to the overall experience. Although there are some minor issues with the controls, but I still highly recommend this game for anyone who loves platformers. It's definitely worth checking out. 8/10, would play again!

Very mediocre, if not just outright bad. It's just about the most cookie-cutter platformer you can think of. The game somehow manages to feel both floaty and heavy at the same time. Hitboxes feel inconsistent. Movement rules change depending on different factors. For instance, you can instantly air turn when jumping, but not when walking off an edge or wall jumping. Wall jump distance seems momentum based, it makes it feel finicky. The game has no anti-frustration measures, and instead seems to implement extra-frustration methods instead. For instance, you might dodge an incoming saw, just to see that it has permanently blocked the path forward forcing you to do the stage over. Very few sound effects, graphic variety, animations, etc. Music doesn't fit the game imo. Just seems very cheaply put together. Very minimal UI, makes me think it was meant for a mobile game. Even then, the UI can feel very unresponsive. Can't use d-pad for movement, it forces you to use the left controller stick. Overall, it just isn't very fun. Even at it's very cheap price point, you could probably find better platformers out there, possibly even for free.

I saw it through 100% but I can't recommend this game to anyone. The controls just don't feel good at all. The character feels slow and heavy, the jump is floaty and sometimes inconsistent and mid air control is horrendously erratic. The game just feels slow overall, slow respawn, slow trap cycles and such frustrations as blind jumps and no forgiveness when jumping from ledges. It basically plays like a cheap knockoff of RITE. Seriously just go play RITE.

The physics are unintuitive and kind of frustrating. At the beginning of the jump you're very floaty (most of the time) but after reaching the peak, you almost instantly hit max fall speed and start plummeting. Simple things like the timer for each level not resetting on death, or starting each level in the air instead of on the ground are either odd design choices or simply poor implementation. Also moving around the menus is painfully slow, which is a minor gripe but still annoying. Even for its low price point, I don't think this game is worth your time or money
