Its great to see the childhood classics return in a New Light. It still is my favourite Strategy game. Theres only minor problems like the A.I troops and Opponents being a little dumb sometimes but overall a great game!

The single greatest Castle sim ever made, aside from the sequel which is just as good. It's not as great as an RTS but it's still excellent even in that aspect. Compared to the original, it has numerous graphical and quality-of-life UI upgrades. Absolutely worth the time of anyone that likes management sims and RTS

Good addition to a great game I loved way back when. Old, but still fun.

Awesome remaster, and love the new updates to creating your own missions. The DLC is also pretty cheap and I would say it's worth it to get them. Definitely worth the money spent, and have a nice siege!

Still as good as it was in 2001, A fantastic example of the genre. I've lost count of how many hours the disk spent spinning in the family PC many moons ago. The graphics and sprite work still hold up fantastic to this day. Trust Me!

Pretty decent tutorial for Stronghold Crusader, if I had to say. The game only lacks a skirmish mode, but otherwise, it's a solid remaster with even more content.

Stronghold Definitive Edition is an absolute gem, even in 2025. The pixel-art is gorgeous, bringing medieval life to the screen with incredible charm. The mechanics are deep yet intuitive, making every decision feel meaningful, whether you're managing your economy or defending your castle. The atmosphere is unmatched—the music, sound design, and overall flair create an immersive experience that pulls you in completely. Every session feels like stepping into a living, breathing medieval world. This game has aged beautifully, proving that true classics never fade. A must-play masterpiece. 10/10!

The Definitive Edition didn't fix or update quite as many things about the original Stronghold as I'd have liked, and the new content is somewhat lacklustre. Nevertheless, if you want to play the original Stronghold, this is absolutely the version to get. It's not a modern game, and it doesn't pretend to be, for better and worse. But, looking at it as impartially as my nostalgia-tainted self can manage, this is the best version of Stronghold 1 available.
