Definitely worth buying this DLC! The story is so good and the characters are so well written too. Just like the main game, the endings are very bittersweet and thought provoking.

What a truly phenomenal DLC. Without spoiling anything, I had my hands in my face, stressing the final choice. These guys know how to make a spectacular cinematic experience with no cutscenes. It's just worth it. If you finished the main game without playing the DLC, I'd say you haven't truly finished the game. It's a story worth experiencing in true Cyberpunk formula.

*Phantom Liberty* is one of the strongest expansions I have played in recent years and a major reason to return to *Cyberpunk 2077*. Instead of simply adding more missions, it introduces a dense, atmospheric new district, a gripping spy-thriller storyline, and some of the most memorable characters in the entire game. Dogtown feels dangerous, chaotic, and visually impressive, with a completely different mood compared to the rest of Night City. The story is intense from the beginning and keeps a strong pace throughout, mixing political intrigue, personal choices, betrayal, and high-stakes action. The writing is mature, and the decisions you make often feel meaningful rather than decorative. The new characters are one of the expansion’s biggest strengths. Solomon Reed and Songbird both add emotional weight to the plot, and their motivations are complex enough to make the player question who can really be trusted. The voice acting, animation, and cinematic presentation are excellent, making many scenes feel more like a high-quality interactive film than a standard DLC. Gameplay also benefits from the expansion. Combat encounters are more varied, the new missions are well designed, and the additional content fits naturally into the main game. The expansion works especially well with the updated systems of *Cyberpunk 2077*, making exploration, character builds, and combat feel much more refined. Overall, *Phantom Liberty* is not just extra content; it is a full, polished expansion that improves the entire Cyberpunk experience. It delivers a strong story, excellent atmosphere, memorable characters, and meaningful choices. For anyone who enjoyed the base game, this DLC is absolutely worth playing. **Rating: 9/10**

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is one of the greatest DLC expansions ever made. It does not feel like just additional content — it feels like a completely new chapter of the game with its own atmosphere, characters, themes and story. The DLC begins with a sudden call from Songbird, a talented Netrunner who works directly with President Rosalind Myers. She tells V that the president is currently flying over Night City, but the aircraft has been hacked and is losing control. After the crash, V finds themselves in Dogtown — a new district of Night City controlled by Kurt Hansen, a former military leader who created his own dangerous kingdom inside the city. Dogtown is one of the best additions to Cyberpunk 2077. It feels completely different from the rest of Night City: it is more chaotic, isolated and full of people who live outside the normal rules. The district is filled with new activities, contracts, events and hidden locations. The new gigs are much better designed compared to the original game — they are longer, more detailed and often feel like small stories instead of simple missions where you just need to eliminate an enemy or steal something. However, Dogtown is not just a new location — it is the center of a political conflict. Kurt Hansen hates President Myers, and if Myers falls into his hands, the consequences could be disastrous. After the opening events, Phantom Liberty becomes a story about espionage, betrayal and the price of freedom. One of the strongest parts of the DLC is its story. The plot is very layered, and the writers slowly build a world where nobody can be fully trusted. At the beginning, many characters seem simple: someone looks like a hero, someone looks like a villain. But as the story continues, you discover that everyone has secrets. A great example of this is Solomon Reed. V’s mission is to find him, and at first Reed appears to be a professional and honorable spy who wants to do the right thing. But later we learn more about his past and the mistakes he made. His old partners are dead, he betrayed people who trusted him, and he carries many regrets. His story shows that even someone who seems reliable can have a dark side. The entire DLC is built around betrayal. Songbird betrayed Reed years ago, Reed was abandoned by Myers and left to survive in Dogtown, Songbird herself was used by the government, and different factions are constantly manipulating each other. Even politicians and journalists constantly talk about how terrible Hansen is, but later many of them still appear at his parties and cooperate with him. Phantom Liberty creates a world where everyone has their own goals, and it becomes almost impossible to understand who is telling the truth. The choices in the DLC are also much more meaningful than in the base game. In the middle of the story, V must make a decision that changes the direction of the events. One path leads to an incredible horror-like sequence inside an abandoned Militech bunker, where V faces an almost unstoppable robot that feels similar to Mr. X from Resident Evil. The other path focuses more on traditional action and combat. Both options provide completely different experiences. The endings of Phantom Liberty are some of the most emotional and depressing moments in Cyberpunk 2077. Many characters receive painful conclusions, but one of the endings can become extremely important for V’s future and offers a completely different perspective on the main character’s journey. Technically, Phantom Liberty also looks better than the original Cyberpunk 2077. Since the expansion was released later, the developers had more time to improve visuals, animations, world design and storytelling. Dogtown feels more alive, the missions are more cinematic, and the pacing of the story is much smoother. Overall, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is not just a DLC — it is one of the best examples of how an expansion can completely improve a game. It delivers an unforgettable spy thriller inside the Cyberpunk universe, with a complex story, memorable characters, meaningful choices and a world where trust is almost impossible. If you enjoyed the original game, Phantom Liberty is an essential experience and one of the strongest parts of Cyberpunk 2077.

After my fifth full playthrough of Phantom Liberty, I finally decided it was time to sit down and write this, especially considering I bought the DLC nearly three years ago and somehow keep finding myself pulled back into it again and again. There’s a certain kind of experience that stops feeling like “just a game” after a while, and *Phantom Liberty* absolutely hit that point for me. I still remember those nights where I’d tell myself I’d only play for an hour or two… and then suddenly it’s 6 AM. The sun’s coming up, my household is still asleep, and I’m in the kitchen pouring a bowl of Fruity Pebbles like it’s some kind of ritual reset button before diving right back in. LED lights set to red, DualSense in hand, completely immersed. That was the rhythm for a while—just me, Night City, and now Dogtown. And Dogtown… that’s really where this DLC separates itself. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty doesn’t just “add content”, it builds a whole new pressure-cooked region that feels isolated, dangerous, and alive in a way that makes every step feel like it matters. You don’t just visit Dogtown; you get stuck in it emotionally, politically, and narratively. It’s cramped, paranoid, violent, and somehow still full of these small human moments that keep you grounded in the chaos. One of the smartest design choices here is that you don’t have to rush the DLC or finish it in one sitting. You can weave it in and out of your main playthrough, come back after doing other gigs, breathe, reset, and then step back into the mess. That flexibility made it feel less like a linear expansion and more like a living subplot that kept evolving alongside my V. And then there’s the story, especially Songbird. Without spoiling too much, her arc is one of the most emotionally layered parts of the entire Cyberpunk experience. She’s not just a quest giver or a plot device; she’s deeply tied into the core themes of control, freedom, and sacrifice that Cyberpunk 2077 has always flirted with, but here actually commits to. Every decision involving her carries weight, and not in a superficial “good ending vs bad ending” way, but in a way that sticks with you long after you’ve turned the game off. The new weapons and systems also deserve credit. They don’t feel like filler additions, they’re designed to reinforce the tone of Dogtown. Everything feels a little more desperate, a little more improvised, like survival is always one bad decision away from collapsing. It fits perfectly. At this point, calling it “one of the best DLCs I’ve played” almost feels understated. It’s not just content, it’s atmosphere, pacing, writing, and immersion all locked together in a way that’s rare to see executed this cleanly, especially in a game that already had such a complicated launch history. I kept coming back to it for a reason. And after five full runs, I think that reason is simple: it doesn’t lose its grip on you.

With all the improvements and how naturally Phantom Liberty fits into the story, I wish this had been my first experience with Cyberpunk 2077.
