Can't really recommend this. I know lots of people like these style of games. I don't really see the appeal.
The game is entirely reactionary. Something happens; you react. Just not my cup of joe.

It's Dwarfs, but free to play! Basically, the same game but only with the fun modes for free.
If you look for a challenge, then maybe the difficulty pack could be a great idea to buy.

I played this game while looking for a challenging mining game. It had some of the gameplay mechanics that I was looking for but the time limit and goal of getting a high score decreased my enjoyment. I've played through the tutorial and a 60 min "easy" game. I won't claim that I've beaten the game at the highest difficulty, but at the same time I don't really want to play it any more.
The game was in fact free, but there are a few featured disabled until you pay a couple bucks.
