Edit: multiplayer no longer recognizes controllers. I swear every game this company made has broken and no longer works. I'm not horny for the cute anime girl I just like racing cars I swear

A shame since the Switch port of this is decent but I'd rather play on PC... This is terrible, controller support is basically non-existent. Says controller recommended but after you buy this it says game not designed for controller support. Can kinda play this *IF* you have a keyboard/mouse handy to navigate menus and even at that- in actual game play, the buttons don't match up, says push Z to accelerate but its actually push A.. yeah, remapping works from Steam but thats a lot lot lot of work when it should just work. SAT-BOX- stop being lazy and do better.

just a working port, bar bones features you'll need a game pad even with solo play, couch only mp, could share broadcasting but may very depending on your connection and distance to the person your share the screen with, track builders bit clunky this could be a great game but I feel it needs more work and more options, wouldn't recommend this at the moment

( full review with screenshots: https://www.gaming-parrot.com/2023/03/rev-up-rc-grand-prix-review-running-on.html ) Rev Up! RC Grand Prix is supposedly a game about racing RC cars, but there's really no way to tell that they're not supposed to be regular cars other than the giant people. Games about racing small cars typically borrow from titles like Micro Machines and have crazy household tracks, hazards like pets or pencils, or all sorts of powerups and weapons. Rev Up! has exactly none of that. Instead, it has 24 tracks with no unique visual or mechanical themes divided across six grand prixs that have equally little to distinguish them. Most of the tracks are actually decently well designed, but they all take place in the same fenced in plot and the AI behavior doesn't change noticeably ever. There are a handful of different car models and a bunch of unlockable colors, but they all handle identically and customizing your car doesn't seem to change anything either. The only meaningfully different thing across all 24 tracks is that, for some reason, the last 8 tracks aren't mapped to a grand prix and you have to add them as a custom set yourself. It's a shame because the tracks are, again, mostly pretty good. They have interesting designs and make good use of changing levels and even jumps. But since the visuals never change and the racing systems are so barebones, they all still manage to feel the same. It reminds me a lot of Garfield Kart in that it's a bad racing game with tracks that really deserved to be in a better racer. -------- For more reviews, see my curator page

I didn't try the mini-games but I don't like the racing and it's what this it's supposed to be about foremost. When you hit walls it barely matter because you bounce off them so it doesn't punish you as much as it should. Colliding with other cars only push them off a little without desaligning them so you can't pit manoeuver, it's not fun, doesn't feel natural and it is also really akward. Apart from drifting there is not much ways to express skill, there is no shortcuts, no platforms to propulse you, no powerups and again you can't even collide properly with other cars so the gameplay feel really bland. Even if I can make my own maps and my own cars, what's the point if the gameplay isn't even exciting? There is also bugs in the game. I go in the shop and I couldn't buy anything even if the currency counter tell me I have 999999$ when I'm totally new and just started. In the select screen when you choose a car if you choose another car than the base car, it is meshed with the base car but only in the select screen. I really wish I would like it but I really don't. Maybe I would've kept it to play the mini-games with friends but it doesn't even have online play so I smell the refund.
