https://youtu.be/1LvNK10MHFg short horror game for this price get game graphics simple story but you have to really explore in this game to be able to continue your journey the story at the end is too forced so it doesn't give a good impression

This was a cheap 1.2 hour game. It was good. I think it was worth the 2 bucks and if you want a game to play for an hour or so this would be a good one. I feel like it had just enough jump scares and scare factor to keep me going.

Until Lights out is a horror set at Christmas time, where an unsuspecting child is thrown into a nightmare situation when she is home alone. Graphics Basic stuff here, nothing stand out, nothing amazing, nothing too awful either. Some effective use of models and blood at times but nothing ground breaking. Sound Voice acting seems reasonable but I'm not an expert as I'm not a native language speaker (it's not in English but it is subtitled which is fine) . Generic sound effects and a bizarre complete lack of background music rendering the game mostly silent. No idea if this is a design choice or not but it feels weird. Gameplay This game is a walking sim with essentially no threats, all you must do is walk around your home going from objective to objective, occasionally triggering scares that continue the games story. The story is mostly conveyed through notes and short lines of spoken dialogue which does a decent enough job of guiding the player through the house and giving you an idea of what to do next. We did get stuck at one point however when we needed to stand near the car in the garage to trigger a jump-scare in order to progress which seemed more than a little pointless. There isn't really much here to sink your teeth into sadly, some scares are ok enough but what you'll mostly be doing is slowly meandering around the house, looking for keys or items for your next objective, and while you won't be lost for hours you will definitely be rolling your eyes at times at the key hunting. Ultimately the game is an inoffensive but short, generic horror game that falls short of being compelling. It makes me a little sad to give it a negative review as there are some decent scares here but ultimately the game is a bit of non-entity with nothing really going for it. I do look forward to seeing what the developer can do in the future and there are worse ways to spend a few dollars. Ultimately though this game wouldn't look out of place if it were free.

I'm at a loss. Literally. I was excited to check this game out hoping to find a hidden gem. While the game is in a foreign language, there are English subtitles. There are no instructions beyond "E to interact" and "RMB to zoom." The game description says it's a "young girl on a calm Christmas evening.: The player has no idea what's going on, what the situation is, what they should be doing, So I began searching, expecting the story would come to me as I went. Unbelievably, there are no sounds from things like the tv, etc. In fact, the game is almost completely silent. it is a stunning absence of any and all ambient noise and not at all realistic. It is also an empty home. There is furniture, but while drawers can be searched, they are all EMPTY. In only one drawer, I found a single key but couldn't pick it up because it said "I don't need this now." This story is supposed to be taking place on Christmas but there is zero evidence of Christmas ANYWHERE, including the neighborhood as seen through windows. So why include Christmas at all? No Christmas is in the screenshots or anywhere in the house. Also, Mom is at work and the daughter calls her and begs her to come home to spend some time with them on "Christmas." It seems as though it is just another regular workday for Mom while Dad is found in an inexplicably darkened living room watching tv. He has a fire going and a candle lit even though the house has power. There is no explanation for this and no sound from the tv to even suggest that perhaps he had darkened the room for a spooky atmosphere, which seems highly unlikely on Christmas day. In some locations things are not the appropriate size or to the correct scale. Most locations look like "normal" as seen from a adult's point of view. Others, like the kitchen suddenly have counters at chest level. This may be an attempt to give us a child's perspective but it is not consistent throughout the house and this is supposedly a 14 year old girl. She is also shown drawing a picture of the family to give to mom as a present yet she has drawn childish stick figures and the sort of thing a toddler would draw. After 30 minutes of searching the house, looking behind every door that would open and opening every drawer in every cabinet there was still absolutely nothing happening. I simply had no idea what to do next. I did notice one oddity in the garage,. The main/big door seems to have been hung inside out. The exterior side was facing in and there was no hardware like a track system or springs for even a manually operated garage door on the inside. I see by other reviews that others were able to complete the game but after searching the house thoroughly and with no indication of what to do next I had little interest or desire to continue to search the house again. I went back for the only key I found but still could not pick it up.. There was no sense of urgency, ambiance, creepiness, nothing . As a fellow creative I am loathe to critique other's efforts and try to be constructive in any criticisms. This game had too much lag time and it didn't help that it was completely devoid of any of the other things that can provide meaning, context or suspense like music, sounds effects, etc I would suggest remembering the age of your protagonist and treat her accordingly. Treat her like the young lady she has become including the way you have her dressed and the sophistication of her drawing.. If Christmas is part of the story, show us or just drop "Christmas" from any descriptions of the game altogether since there is no evidence of Christmas anywhere. And put stuff in the drawers, on the shelves, etc. Opening empty drawer after empty drawer gets tiring quickly, not to mention the lack of contents don't fit the scene you are trying to present. Also, under the "options" menu there is a sliding bar for "mouse sensibility." I think you might mean "mouse sensitivity." If i'm wrong, I apologize. Perhaps I will try this game again and attempt to be more patient, but the point to an adventure or horror game is action, mood, tension, discovery, conflict and resolution. Not aimless wandering waiting for something to happen in a silent, sparse environment.
