It lacks at the point in time of writing this character Expressions or CGs, and the story seems bland. Even though that exists, the story does quite TAKE OFF, what it lacks in visuals it makes up for with just how descriptive, even if more to the point than trying to take in full scope of surroundings.
What seems bland and linear is more about focus. Focus to the tasks at paw. A story about making the most of things where you have little choice. It is pleasant surprise for the way things develop! Full of cute, if brief, interactions! :D
The dark side is, living in the present means you don't think about the future, thinking about future means you don't live in the present. Balance of here and now with that which could be.
