I tested PhotoDirector mainly for background removal and object repair. Unfortunately, the results are far below expectations.
The Samsung Galaxy S21, a free mobile phone tool, produces far better background removal and object healing results — instantly and with no need for confusing menus or switching between modes like in PhotoDirector.
Despite only testing the software for a few hours, I exceeded the 2-hour refund policy just by keeping it open. I didn’t use it commercially or export anything, yet the refund was refused.
The interface is clunky, important features are hidden or locked behind unnecessary steps, and the AI tools are not competitive in 2025.
