Expansion - Crusader Kings II: The Republic DLC

This DLC adds the possibility of playing as a patrician within a merchant republic. The gameplay revolves around constructing trade posts around the map, which boost the revenue of your dynasty. The more "connected" the trade posts are, the higher the revenue. Meanwhile, there are other patrician families within the republic with whom you must compete against to gain the title of doge, the head of the republic. While the DLC gameplay has some interesting ideas, I think there are way too many issues, and I would not recommend buying this DLC (especially for its price). - Firstly, I have encountered several bugs. For example, it did happen to me that some trade posts disappeared immediately after spending resources to build them. - There are several gameplay subtleties that are not explained at all. For example, as a merchant republic, you have some CBs to seize cities (or counties) if you have a trade post nearby. Sometimes the player cannot use these CBs and it is not explained why. Similarly, there are situations where you cannot build a trade post (e.g., after an embargo war) but again this is not explained well. It did happen to me that I could not build a trade post on a county because the county had been embargoed, but somehow another patrician was allowed to build one there (possibly a bug?). - In my opinion, the core mechanics around the construction of trade posts have not been thought out carefully. So, there is a limit to the trade posts that one can build, although it is possible to "inherit" trade posts and surpass such limit. This can happen, for example, if another patrician family becomes extinct, in which case their trade posts are distributed among the other families. Crucially, there is no way to destroy your own trade posts, or reposition them. This gameplay decision is baffling to me, because it does not add any real depth, and it can just be a cause of frustration for the player. For example, suppose the player's plan is to build a new trade post near some other ports that they already have (as mentioned before, the more "connected" the trade posts are, the higher their revenue). By pure chance, it may happen that the player inherits a trade post far away which makes them hit their trade post limit. At this point, the player is unable to build a new trade posts and instead they have to stick with the "bad" trade post that they randomly inherit.
