A.I.T.W is definitely a unique experience but it's one I enjoyed a decent amount! It took a bit to get up and working, due to the game itself only working with Xbox controllers seemingly? Once I got it working though, it was a fairly solid romp! Really do wish that it had keyboard support.
This seems to be an improved version of what looks to be the developer's first game on steam, and its great for a first time game! The music is good, but gets a bit grating after a while. The asset pack usage is a bit obvious at times, but the original assets are well made from what I've seen. The gun-play is a bit rough, but that could also just be me playing with a Steam controller and not the recommended Xbox controller. The performance is also not the best, but also pretty standard for first time game developers. 25-30 frames with my 4060 Ti isn't the best, but I've played much worse. It isn't bad, and not remotely as bad as some reviews describe it as.
Some of the other reviews calling this a 'Digital Homicide' style asset flip are just cruel. From what I've seen from the dev's social media, this seems to be a genuine passion project made with love. And, while it's definitely a bit rough, it 100% has value. Excited to see The Last Hero Remastered!
