Ok for the actual review though
I... should probably withold my judgement until the rest of the routes are released, but...
The point of a mystery game is that... That you solve the mystery... That you get the answers...
There are two routes in this game with 8 endings, and it took me about 10 hours to get through all of them
None of which you learn the titular Begonia Killer's identity
(Although in one of them your girlfriend knows? But You don't ask & she doesn't tell???? Like... Literally why???)
Most of the important plot points in the game had me going "Yeah, okay, but like... Literally why, though???"
The story is weak and there are multiple points in it where any normal person asking one single question would avoid sooooooo many problems later on, but they don't
...
I will say though... Despite everything, it WAS entertaining. I did spend 10 hours with it
The dialogue in the game is either packed FULL of information or its giving NOTHING of value
Its also quite clumsy in a way that one of my friends lovingly described "Peak small-town-queer-indie-trash"
and yeah. It is.
The only reason Jude and Kris are gay in a way that excludes each other is bc the two of them together would be wayyy powerful for this game to handle.
In the game you see the characters holding onto grudges and love triangles they had as kids, while openly and uncaringly sleeping with each other

I loved both Lucia and Aidan's routes. There's still so much I must be missing, maybe I haven't made the right choices yet to see who is Stella's killer and the identity of the Begonia Killer. I'd love, love, love to see an update where you can have an option to romance all of the main friend group, I want to know more about them and also, I find Ezra and Jude, and Kris really cute so I am really hopeful that there will be a chance to explore a route with them in the future. Amazing game, keep it up! I will def recommend this to friends.
