I found myself in the same spot from the demo played last year (stuck) but I managed to solve a particular puzzle. That's progress right there. Graphically the game looks fine. The atmosphere is well done. I do like the voice acting as well which adds to the experience. The game used the same map that other horror games have used unfortunately but it has it's own flair bein' that this game has a story to tell. I don't think the price tag will break the bank too much for those lookin' to give it a shot. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/i5M8eFVwfUE

[EN] I'm enjoying this game a lot, I don''t usually like games that I'm all the time scared but Scholar's Mate makes it enjoyable, the feeling of fear i have combined with the difficulty of puzzles makes it feel just like a real life scaperoom, like the ones an actor scares you and you are under stress all the time. I really recommend it to all of you who likes scaperooms.

Game just drops you in with little to no story, doesn't talk much on confusing mechanics, puzzles barely make any sense. I had enough after the game broke and trapped me on some stairs. Don't buy if you care about your time.

So let me start off by saying... I did beat the game. The story itself once it's all played out to you will make you really like the experience you had. Now I will say that some of the puzzles do make you really use your brain... and I like that. There not just cut and dry with a simple answer that you can just turn to. Which was a very nice approach. It makes the moment you solve it feel that much more rewarding. I liked the atmosphere within the game... the sound design was pretty well done... and Eddie is a pain in your ass the majority of the time. Especially since there doesn't seem to be any concrete way to know exactly how to avoid his detection. Sometimes he'll see you when you're hiding behind something... sometimes he won't see you when he's looking right at you from down the hallway. Sometimes he'll hear you when you're walking on the floor below (and he's really only supposed to notice you if you run). Some of the puzzles did glitch a little bit... but nothing to where it was game breaking... just overall annoying. I will say though that I did enjoy my time with the game... and therefore cannot give it a negative review despite some minor design flaws. If you're going to buy it though... I would really wait for a sale if you're not fully invested in playing every game that the horror genre has to offer (like me). Because the bugs within the game that I discovered... may be actually enough to make some of you quit. The difficulty in the puzzles within the game... may be enough to make you quit. So I cannot fully say that you should pick this game up because you'll enjoy it. This game is like tea... it's not for everyone.

The Game crashes everytime it wants to compiling shaders at the start of the Game. It is in an incredible circumstance. Sad.

Two decent puzzles to start with the bathroom and the oxygen machine, but that's about it. Really frustrating that the inventory kills the game. When you use the projector, it looks like the world gets tipped upside down and then you cannot use the other slides in your inventory very well. Also, I got locked up on the book puzzle. First, it's really dumb to sort by frayed edges and not volume number. Second, I kept getting locked on my inventory when accessing the puzzle. There were times that I couldn't exit the inventory, times where I could close it but couldn't move outside of switching to my flashlight and begging the killer to kill me, and times where I couldn't do anything - even ESC. I had to close out of the game every time and then once I went back to the puzzle the issue persisted. Also, the history difficulty says the enemy has "limed" (I assume this is meant to be "limited") senses, but I noticed no difference between the lowest level difficulty and the original. Calling this a horror game is a bit of a joke. It's not really scary. There is only 1 killer that moves in the same route pattern over and over. No real difficulty or challenge.
