This is the first auto shooter I've ever played that lags out to the point where you get 1 frame, then you die from damage out of no where. This has happened after my 7th play through. Each run ends up with me lagging out and dying. The game is NOT currently playable at all. Avoid until the lag issues are fixed.

as of right now the final boss spawns at 24 ish minutes of play time, once it dies your run ends. it is annoying because some of the things you need to do slow your moves speed to that of a crawl and it eats away most of the time you could explore. by the time you feel good the run is mostly over. the opacity setting is broke, it resets after every run so i have to go change it again. even with it turned town with certain builds you cant see anything on screen but projectiles, fps drops to 20 or below, builds with many projectiles lag the game to basically unplayable. needs endless, too many runs stopped abruptly, time limit on exploration kills it for me, no way really explore. even if you unlock drop points if you stop to do the activities you burn so much time you are forced to spawn in again and again to even clear certain areas stopped by a time limit rather than death.

Fantastic game!
Exploration. Multiple builds. Many different unlocks by doing specific things. Different biomes. Super great. Want more.

I've been playing this game on and off and this latest update has me digging it all over again. The soundtrack is getting better with every patch too! Having your Build be the total of upgrades for your choosen gun along with some of the other meta progression options makes each run a lot of fun. I want the new BEE gun!

I can see this game ending up in a good place, but the early version is just not worth your time. No re-rolls is the big one, but I imagine these show up eventually as they are a staple of this genre.
Healing items a massive waste of time and resources. You can have 5 or 6 items equipped all of those leveled up to 5+ and you will get back 1/5th of 1 HP per second. Meanwhile stuff will hit you for 20+ damage. If you don't want healing in your game, just don't put it in. I could have spent the 5 hours of replaying the same thing leveling something else.
Way too much of a time sink in order to level your permanent type stats. This means you will play the exact same area of the map over and over and over and over with very little way to get a foothold into new areas.
Balancing is just a long way off all around. Healing items are bad, some bosses are faster than you could ever be even if you manged to just level speed and nothing else. Towers have far too many hit points for the type of item they drop. Resource requirements ramp up very fast for upgrades.
There are too many fun ideas for this game to not be good eventually. I would let this one keep baking for another few more months and then check it out.

Nimrods has been thoroughly entertaining even since it's demo release. It's the sort of Bullet Hell Survival game that gives you the components to a build then lets you run wild with it. Each gun part and some power ups can drastically change how your gun behaves for better, or worse. It's up to you to figure out what parts to add to your current gun and even the timing of when to added them.
• You want to shoot a single giant electric ball that hunts down and vaporizes everything in its path? You can do that.
• You want to shoot an obscene amount of rockets that split and explode blotting out the sun starting a nuclear winter? You can do that.
• You want to become an unholy ball of freedom and fire that Apollo would envy and that puts the Sun to shame? You can absolutely do that too.
Explore to unlock new guns, parts, abilities, and characters. Find new Biomes with new and increasingly difficult enemies and bosses. Not only do you become stronger but your gun lives on to be used by your little drone buddy. But that's not all, with the ability to unlock upgrades for your drone and give it different behaviors and abilities it can potentially use a gun you created in a way you never could and even provide additional benefits based on how the gun was built.
Addressing Other Reviews:
• Yes there are game mechanics such as re-rolls and even more control over randomization of the drop pods/upgrades.
• There is a bit of grind to the game but there are unlock-able and viable upgrades that help with increasing resource gathering.
• And yes healing in the game is fine. It's balanced so that if you go all in to damage you better be focusing on using that damage to kill everything before it gets to you rather than worrying about healing if they get you. Do you want an insane damage build? A super tanky build with different special abilities to supplement? Or even a super speedy elusive build that focuses on exploring and unlocking goodies? Any of this and more is possible or something in between that might not be a glass cannon or immortal.
• I have a decent computer with a Ryzen 5 5600 and an RTX 3070 and I've rarely seen a dip below 120 fps with 1000s of bullets flying around the screen. The one time I did see some massive drop was when combining explosions with thousands of bullets at the same time. At that point you need to decrease Explosion Opacity in the settings to be able to see where you are walking.
My takeaway:
Overall gameplay and builds are fun and allow for some completely insane over the top builds. Progression feels rewarding and you may need to prioritize exploration and unlocking upgrades over an over the top build. This gives you different reasons to keep dropping back into the world and different ways to progress. The game is Early Access but the content very satisfying and is worth well more than $10. Which makes me very excited for any future updates where more is planning to be added.
Tips for beginners:
Settings has "Auto Aim" and "Auto Shoot" with hotkeys to override. These settings can make the game much more enjoyable most play styles.
