If you like a game with a good story, this is your game. The puzzles became easy once you learned the trick.

A beautifully crafted visual novel that tugs at the heartstrings, enveloping players in a poignant, emotionally charged journey. Still finishing the story, but felt so strongly that I had to share my thoughts early.

A short visual novel where you advance the story by completing puzzles. The puzzles are not fully intuitive or explained, but a perfect score is not necessary or even advantageous. The story is surprisingly emotionally complex and touching. The voice acting is A+ and the picture art too. Pictures start pixelly and a task is to sharpen the resolution.

Katy Bentz was robbed of a Best Performance Nominee for the TGA's. She did not have to go so hard in a visual Novel Puzzler, but she did and it made the game actually much more better to explore and play!
As for the game itself, its a unique puzzler that's easy to understand but hard enough to get those "Excellent" ranks in a 100% play through. I wish there were more levels (does not have to be story related) but replaying the game doesn't hurt at all when trying to snag the rest of those achievements.
its a fun brain teaser

Short and bittersweet, but an engaging story from start to finish. I'd love to see another game with similar puzzles in the future.

The best way I can describe this game is "a work of art." Every aspect of this game is just beautiful and perfect. The story, the art, the acting, the music... is just a beautiful work of art. A masterpiece, honestly. I feel like the only downside is I would have liked it to be longer, but really the story just played out too perfectly for it to even need that.
Prepare to get emotional. You'll really feel like you are Esme and feeling what he feels, but also the emotions Annie feels and the acting that went into it are so intense you'll feel her whole journey too like it's your own. The music is so good. The puzzles are addicting and if you're confused by them at first, you'll learn with Esme. And then you'll feel super smart when you complete them. They're a mix of minesweeper and pipe puzzle games.
I don't usually leave reviews but I really had to with this one. It's just such a beautiful game that needs to be played. Such a unique concept with an amazing story. I really can't praise it enough.

This is a very cool game at a good price if you know what you are getting!
This is basically a narrative / visual novel that requires you to solve a puzzle in order to "turn the page." The main character's voice acting and the soundtrack completely carry the narrative tension that develops as you get through the game. I don't want to go into specifics for spoilers - I will simply say this is an emotional story propped up by some talented artists. At first I was unsure of how to feel about the fact that you have no control over the dialogue progression, but since the dialogue flows as planned the music lines up perfectly. The most dramatic moments of the story are perfectly complimented by the score as a result but take warning - you will miss dialogue if you play this game in a distracting environment! The story itself is very good. At times it is very dramatic, and while it *almost* becomes over dramatic it never quite passes that line - it is simply very *heavy* at times in a good way. The characters definitely have a shade of tragedy to them but there are a lot of positive themes that emerge and I even found myself chuckling a few times.
While the game does feature puzzles there is essentially no consequence to failure. The puzzle is basically just a narrative feature for the sake of immersion as you play as the AI. Like - its minesweeper but you can just completely bulldoze through the mines without risk of losing any progress and solve the puzzles anyways. So, I actually would not recommend this to someone who cares about the failure-loop in puzzle games. The game is more fun if you ACT like solving the puzzle efficiently and safely matters, but there is no feature in the game that makes you do this.
STEAM DECK USERS: This game is so close to being good on the deck, but at this point in time there are display issues that make the game unplayable in "Game Mode." I did successfully play the game by launching it in "Desktop Mode" and so, you could still enjoy it that way.
For a low price - it is a worthy purchase. A bunch of very talented people involved in this project!

I don't normally leave reviews, but I am finding this game to just be something really different and unique and wanted to encourage people to give it a try. I've never encountered a puzzle game that is so strongly story driven and it's just a really obvious combination! Why hasn't this been done more? It works really well. I'm only into the first few chapters but am drawn into the characters and really want to know what happens next. If you're reading this, check it out, it's worth it!
