2026 REVIEW: Being an Asian guy myself, I kind of want to see a more worldly take towards OMSI 2 maps. And with a growing Japanese community enjoying OMSI 2 and building their own maps, bus and repaints, I'm just happy that Halycon Media created the VOL. 12 AI PEOPLE ASIA EDITION. BEFORE YOU BUY: I highly recommend purchasing the OMSI 2-Downloadpack Collection 2 as it's a great deal to get all AI people into your maps instead of the same people over and over again. In the long run, you will save money and it's definitely worth it. DO KNOW BEFORE BUYING: Halycon Media's human and vehicle packs are not "install completed it's ready to go". No, you need to tweak the files first. If you are not a tech savvy person, there are YT videos you can check out to learn. GETTING STARTED! In this case, for the human packs, you will want to go to your OMSI 2 director and under each map, you will see a humans.txt file and a drivers.txt file. You will need to add the pack to these maps. So, what I do is I keep four files kept outside of my OMSI 2 directory, so I can copy and paste whatever I need to a maps file. The four files that you will deal with are: Ailists.cfg (vehicles) parklist_p (parked vehicles) humans.txt (people walking around the map and hanging out at the bus stop) drivers.txt (people who are driving the bus, sorry there is no humans driving vehicles) The four folders inside the OMSI 2 directory are all you need to know: Addons Folder - PDF MANUAL iS LOCATED HERE: The second thing to know is that there is a manual that I highly recommend you check out. Go to your OMSI 2 directory and you will find the folder, Addons. You can find the manual there in English, German and Chinese. Humans Folder - Any human and/or driver files released by a developer or in this case Halycon Media is located here. (files end with *.hum) MAPS - This is where all the map files are located including human.txt and drivers.txt to add which humans can be on this map. Go to one of your maps and you will see the humans folder there. All you have to do is add a link to the txt file and that is it. EXAMPLE: humans\AddOn_DLP-Vol-12\Man_1\Man_1.hum And the same with drivers. You can make any of these humans a driver. And you just add them to the drivers.txt file on that map. EXAMPLE: humans\AddOn_DLP-Vol-12\Busdriver_1\Busfahrer_1.hum Now TicketPacks is if you want these people to purchase tickets when they go on the bus. I recommend reading the manual for this.\. But for the most part, the packs are easy to utilize and again I do recommend purchasing them as a bundle when on sale! Much cheaper that way! IMPORTANT! On the OMSI 2 options, depending on your computer and how you like your settings, you can increase the humber of vehicles on your map. Choose better performance and less vehicles and people or if you have the computer than does get bogged down with any lag, tweak and add more humans/vehicles along the way. I recommend checking out the performance guide on OMSI 2 STEAM GUIDES. Otherwise, tweak the amount of people and figure out which is more tolerable for you during your gameplay. TROUBLESHOOTING: I recommend either.... OMSI 2 Power Tool KIt or the Busbetrieb-Simulator. Both can check your maps and see if you added things correctly and to make sure nothing is missing or misspelled. But I highly recommend these two software if you plan to add humans or vehicles, so it can pre-check things before you start playing. JUDGMENT CALL: If you are tired of the same people over and over on your map. Yeah, the bald overweight guy, the kid with the big forehead and the kid always wearing jeans, it's good to have additional people on your maps and these Downloadpacks from Halycon Media are definitely worth it! Wished there were more humans added but at under $4.25 US (when on sale), it's worth it. BTW, not sure who were the designers but like the ojisan Tamori-san looking driver they added with the slick back hair and sunglasses. Obviously, while called Asia edition, you can tell the clothing and style are more Japan-Tokyo style. For Downloadpack Vol. 12, with the Numazu map coming out soon and also for those who want more Asian humans in your map, definitely check this one out! I highly recommend it!
