Emma's Armaments has a charming art-style which immediately drew my eye as I was browsing through indie game releases on twitter. The reason being two things : The incredibly cute and clean pixel art style, and the fact that it is a game in the management sim genre. Unfortunately, as it stands, Emma's Armaments feels like an incomplete game. The game-play loop has very large potential for becoming addictive, but there were too many missing elements which made it hard to want to progress beyond just seeing what new items I would encounter. The most glaring one being that there are no other ways to spend your money other than exploring dungeons and paying rent. I usually love the mix-and-match trial-and-error style of alchemy type games where you'd fill out an almanac through your unique experimentation , but the fact that all possible item combinations were telegraphed really bummed me out. It felt like there was nothing unique to my experience as a player that I could encounter. Please don 't stop making games. I love the concept, I love the art style, and I love everything Emma's Armaments could've been, but as it stands, I am simply unable to feel a sense of progression which makes me want to continue playing.
