Dreambound is a great game that tackles themes of loss, grief, love, and finding happiness. There are some heavy feelings and topics covered in this game, but if that isn't something that is a trigger for you I'd definitely recommend it. Dreambound's brightest bit is it's story, less so of the romances, not that they're not important! But the journey you as the player go on with Noah - whether you like him or not - is really something special. So for the non-spoilery recommendation: yes play the game it is worth the money.
Spoilers ahead:
You should play the point and click section. And if puzzles are not your thing the spoiler free guide in the community section will assist just fine. Doing the puzzles (there's only two sections), you will get chances to meet characters that really impact the story. If you hate puzzles:
only the second dream puzzle sequence has multiple new characters which are important.
. Also I liked the puzzle sections, but I wish there were more of them, especially since they're skippable.
I did this route order:
Kaine, Ivan, and my favorite, Crow
. I don't think you need to do them in any order to enjoy it, but I enjoyed my order because of the way I discovered the mysteries and I think it should be mentioned. All endings are really interesting and worth experiencing.
Now, this is the hard bit, Dreambound isn't really for you if you just want a BL romance dating sim. It's romance and it's exploration of love is really good! But there's a lot more going on than just: meet-cute, story, good end. All the characters are bring something to the story, and exploring all of them and how they're connected (or not) to different parts of Noah's life and the murders is what's interesting.
for example: When Noah and Asher were able to reconcile some? I jumped for joy it was such a good section to see Noah genuinely dealing with his familial issues.
.
Overall: I really enjoyed the game, highly recommend if you're interested in sitting down for a weekend of mysteries and face palming at some character decisions, but enjoying it anyway. :)

Finished the game and don't know what to do with myself now. What a beautiful story about trauma and moving on. About finding joy again, and of course love and dreams. I can only recommend this. Noah is so beautifully realistic in how he lashes out - it's not pretty, but it is what it is.
If you wanted to play Slow Damage but you don't deal well with all the gore this is the one for you.
