As someone who doesn't game often and when I do, it's literally repetitive cozy games, this is actually pretty cute. I played it for 7hrs straight. My only gripe is that I'm not getting the hang of having the cards do the work. OR, it's more likely user error.

Here is a revised and original version of the review: Developed by Spellgarden Games and published by Team17, Ritual of Raven offers a refreshing interpretation of the cozy life simulation genre by replacing traditional farming mechanics with a magical automation system centered on witchcraft and mystical rituals. Instead of spending hours watering crops and harvesting produce by hand, players step into the role of an aspiring magical practitioner who arrives in a world destabilized by a failed ritual that has fractured the connections between different realms. Guided by the experienced witch Sage and accompanied by the enigmatic Familiar Raven, your objective is to restore harmony by mastering powerful rituals, uncovering forgotten magical knowledge, and searching for Sage's missing companion. The game's premise immediately distinguishes itself with a whimsical setting that combines mystery, exploration, and personal growth without relying on grand battles or world-ending threats. One of the game's most appealing features is its unique approach to farming. Rather than focusing on repetitive manual labor, Ritual of Raven encourages players to command enchanted Arcana Constructs that handle planting, watering, cultivating, and harvesting on their behalf. This automation transforms farming into a thoughtful management system where planning and resource allocation become more important than constant physical interaction. As players discover and unlock more Constructs, each with specialized purposes, the magical garden becomes increasingly efficient and satisfying to manage. This mechanic not only reduces tedious gameplay but also reinforces the fantasy of becoming a skilled witch capable of commanding magical servants instead of performing every task personally. Magic serves as the foundation of nearly every gameplay system. Gathering rare ingredients, expanding a mystical Book of Shadows, and learning increasingly complex rituals create a rewarding progression loop that constantly introduces new possibilities. The rituals are directly tied to repairing unstable portals scattered throughout the world, giving every magical advancement a meaningful narrative purpose. Instead of existing as isolated gameplay mechanics, spellcasting and ritual preparation naturally blend with exploration and storytelling, making every new discovery feel valuable. The game's progression is paced carefully, allowing players to gradually expand both their magical knowledge and their influence within the enchanted world. The world itself is filled with warmth and personality thanks to its colorful cast of villagers, fellow practitioners, and unusual magical creatures. Conversations with residents help build a sense of community while gradually revealing more about the fractured history of the realm and the consequences of the disastrous ritual. The search for the missing Familiar adds emotional depth to the story, while numerous smaller interactions reinforce the comforting atmosphere that defines the entire experience. Rather than relying on constant conflict, Ritual of Raven succeeds by encouraging curiosity, friendship, and exploration, making the world feel alive through its characters and environmental storytelling. Artistically, the game embraces a vibrant fantasy aesthetic that perfectly complements its magical themes. Bright environments, lush gardens, charming architecture, and expressive creature designs create a visually inviting world that feels both peaceful and mysterious. The Arcana Constructs bring additional life to the environment as they tirelessly perform their enchanted duties, making the gardens feel active even when the player is exploring elsewhere. Combined with relaxing music and gentle sound effects, the audiovisual presentation reinforces the cozy atmosphere and encourages players to enjoy the journey at their own pace rather than rushing toward objectives. Beyond its core mechanics, Ritual of Raven provides satisfying long-term progression through character customization, magical collection systems, expanding gardens, and the gradual completion of the Book of Shadows. Every newly discovered ritual, Construct, or rare ingredient contributes to a rewarding sense of advancement without overwhelming players with unnecessary complexity. The game strikes a comfortable balance between meaningful progression and accessibility, making it suitable for both longtime fans of cozy simulation games and newcomers looking for a more relaxed experience. While players who enjoy conventional farming simulators may initially miss direct crop management, Ritual of Raven confidently establishes its own identity by focusing on magical creativity instead of repetitive chores. Its innovative automation systems, engaging fantasy narrative, memorable cast of characters, and beautifully crafted world combine to create an experience that feels both familiar and surprisingly original. By emphasizing strategy, exploration, and the joy of mastering mystical arts, the game successfully offers a fresh perspective on a genre that often struggles to differentiate itself. Overall, Ritual of Raven is an imaginative and polished cozy adventure that successfully blends life simulation, magical management, and heartfelt storytelling into a cohesive experience. Spellgarden Games has created a distinctive title that avoids simply imitating existing farming simulators, while Team17's publishing support helps deliver a polished presentation that remains consistently engaging from beginning to end. Players seeking a relaxing fantasy experience with meaningful progression, creative gameplay systems, and an enchanting atmosphere will find plenty to appreciate. Its willingness to rethink familiar mechanics while maintaining the comforting appeal of the cozy genre makes Ritual of Raven a standout title that deserves attention. Rating: 9/10

Don't hesitate getting this if you enjoy farming, running errands and mending bonds between the locals. You will probably have a fun time! The programming aspect is actually really fun but there were moments were I felt like certain quests were just there to drag out the game-time, but I then noticed how it rather challenged you to evolve the programming-part which will make those quests go much faster. So yeah, it's good!

TEDIUS Gameplay .. where u gotta click ur magical creature to farm for you.. to make him farm for u, u gotta click and drag the move power for him to move, then click and drag the water action and then the seeding action etc.. damn overall its super tedius with this click fest of a farm game and its just a bit too much and annoying. SO TEDIUS ... i love the art though.

Considering how popular Sticky Business is, I anticipated quite a lot of reviews for this game. But, to my surprise, there are so few! This game might not be everyone's cup of tea, however, so far this is the kind of tea I want. The ambient sounds and music are relaxing, the artistic style is fun and quite often beautiful, and there's also an interesting dynamic going on with the characters. The storyline wasn't what I was anticipating so I appreciate that quite a lot. Yes, the quests can be repetitive, but it feels no more repetitive than others in this genre or even outside of the genre. Hopefully, I don't eat my words on this one as I'm only ~15 hours in. Let's also not forget how creative the mechanics were farming are. Love me some little minions I can queue up and establish looping actions. Chef's kiss. Overall, I really appreciate the work put into this game and I don't know WHY this game in particular got me emotional, but it did. Thanks Spellgarden for another warm hug manifested into a form of a game.
