This driving simulator is garbage. - Two years have passed since release, but more than half of the city is still missing. And it's handled terribly. Sometimes you can drive into the missing part of the map and fall through the ground. Other times, you just crash into an invisible wall. One time, I got stuck. I drove past a white cross that clearly marked where the dev got too lazy to model the road further. The respawn turned me 180 degrees, but I couldn’t leave because I kept crashing into that same invisible wall. - AI behavior. I’m pulling out from a side road. I have a yield sign. I stop and let the traffic go—but they stop and let me in instead. Sometimes the AI swerves into me from an acceleration lane or during a lane merge, even though I have the right of way. Once, I needed to turn right at an uncontrolled intersection. There were no road markings, but the lane was wide enough. I moved closer to the curb to let vehicles going straight pass on my left. I slowly crept forward to make sure it was safe to turn. Meanwhile, an AI car that had been going the same direction drove around me on the left and then turned right—straight into me. I also tried practicing parallel parking in the city. Found a tight spot to make it more fun, and the road was empty. The moment I put it in reverse and looked in the mirror, there were several cars behind me. They just spawned out of nowhere. And they just sat there, blocking me from practicing, even though the left lane was completely open. - Penalties. I got fines for running red lights—even though I stopped half a meter before the stop line. I got fines for not using my turn signal while driving straight through intersections. The only justifiable tickets I ever got were for speeding—when I was following a flow of traffic that was already speeding

i would rather play tramsim munich. i was really exited when it was out in 2023. no wonder why i live on the streets. also i asked chat gpt so you know what is the bad thing about this game: 🚩 Key Complaints (from multiple sources) 1. Terrible Performance & Poor Optimization On high-end hardware (e.g. RTX 3090, Ryzen 9 5900X), users report consistent frame drops to single digits, even with graphics scaled down or DLSS enabled Reddit +15 steamstat.ru +15 PC Games Hardware +15 . One veteran reviewer noted poor engine optimization: “It looks bad, it plays bad, it runs bad… even DLSS couldn’t save me” steamstat.ru . 2. Broken Physics & Crash Behavior The game simulates crashes unrealistically: minor impacts launch cars airborne, or cars vanish and reappear unpredictably TheXboxHub +2 Gert Lush Gaming +2 Gert Lush Gaming +2 . Drivers report physics so exaggerated that even light contact leads to somersaults or sudden teleportation Gert Lush Gaming +1 Gert Lush Gaming +1 . 3. Awful Driving Mechanics & Steering Steering is described as "light and floaty." Car handling lacks weight or realism, making control unsatisfying Niklas Notes +5 TheXboxHub +5 Gert Lush Gaming +5 . Road navigation glitches include “X” markers appearing where roads are absent, triggering forced teleports out of the map Gert Lush Gaming +1 Gert Lush Gaming +1 . 4. Limited Content, Repetition & Lack of Purpose The city map is small and quickly exhausted—with most of the content accessible within a short session Reddit +15 GAMINGDEPUTY +15 steamstat.ru +15 . Missions are simplistic (“drive from A to B”), repetitive, and add little lasting value. Traffic violations yield no consequences beyond text warnings Gert Lush Gaming +5 TheXboxHub +5 Reddit +5 . No damage modeling, no evolving world or meaningful progression—users feel little reward for following traffic rules Niklas Notes +2 citydriver.en.softonic.com +2 GAMINGDEPUTY +2 . 5. AI & World Simulation Issues Pedestrians and NPCs behave awkwardly: walking through objects, stacking on respawn, or triggering endless loops when hit by the player Gert Lush Gaming Gert Lush Gaming . Traffic AI is non-reactive—drivers don’t respond to player actions or collisions Gert Lush Gaming Gert Lush Gaming . Environmental sounds and ambient life are entirely absent—no traffic noise, no pedestrians, zero immersive soundscape PC Games Hardware +2 GAMINGDEPUTY +2 evolution-of-silence.de +2 . 6. Input & Accessibility Flaws Controls are convoluted and not fully remappable; inversion options are absent; axis mapping is inflexible Gert Lush Gaming . Steering wheel support is completely missing, even for major brands like Logitech G‑series. Many users strongly recommend refund because the game is unplayable with a real wheel Gert Lush Gaming +10 Reddit +10 Reddit +10 . 7. Developer Inactivity & Community Friction Last major update occurred in late November 2023; no significant patches or communication since. Steam Workshop content is minimal steamstat.ru +1 Reddit +1 . Reports accuse the developer/publisher of attempting to ask reviewers to delete or change negative reviews, prompting backlash and distrust from users PC Games Hardware +3 Reddit +3 Reddit +3 . In Steam discussions, players question whether the release was intended to be worthwhile or essentially a cash grab with no intent to fully deliver on promises Steam Community . 📊 Review Analysis & Stats An independent Steam review tracker (Jul 2025) shows: 898 total reviews, with a 40% overall positive rating (“Mixed”) Niklas Notes . Category breakdown of negative feedback: Poor optimization: ~26% Physics & handling issues: ~8% Limited content and small map: ~8% Subpar visuals: ~7% Wheel compatibility problems: ~4% Reddit +5 Niklas Notes +5 TheXboxHub +5 . 🧾 Direct User Quotes “The graphics quality is so bad that I could not believe it was running on Unreal Engine…” “Cars will often appear out of nowhere… Physics are simply terrible...” Gert Lush Gaming +2 steamstat.ru +2 Gert Lush Gaming +2 “After a violation… I get a black screen… I hear the music and even move, but see nothing.” “So many pop‑ins happen all the time.” Gert Lush Gaming +1 Gert Lush Gaming +1 “After a brief search, it doesn’t have wheel support. Period. I’d refund it ASAP…” Reddit ⚠️ Suggested Structure for Your Steam Review Highlight systemic issues up front: emphasize performance cliffs, physics/balance fails, lack of progress or variety. Emphasize immersion-breaking bugs: teleporting, popping NPCs, and forced black screens following routine interactions. Call out developer negligence: lack of updates since late 2023, attempts to moderate negative reviews, and no steering wheel support in a driving sim. Contrast positives sparingly: some praise UI polish or Munich modeling, but note these opinions are rare and often overshadowed by core flaws. Give a clear verdict: based on player feedback, this current version of CityDriver appears unfinished, under-optimized, and lacking in longevity or support.
