This game is really good, but also very hard. The graphics are fantastic, as well as the combat and home/base building. You can even build an entire Greek city if you want. PLenty of mobs, but if you die you droop all the items, including your armor and have to pick them up.

Aesthetically pleasing with a fun gameplay loop. The combat when done right is reminiscent of the old adventure movies, and there is enough story there to be engaged with. Good bit of fun for the price.

I'm not that far into it and I'm not sure how much content the game has now, or will end up having at release. I may or may not update this review later.
But I can tell this is a good one. Building is simple and straightforward and you can build anywhere. No need to claim territory. Want shortcut stairs to get up a ridge? Go right ahead. No one is stopping you.
Another thing I really appreciate is that with the spear, if you're chasing something, it runs as fast or faster than you because of course it does. But when you attack, you leap forward and actually hit it. It's hard to describe just how good that feels and how much I miss it in every other game of this type now. Other than that, the combat is pretty mid. Not bad, not great. Enshrouded is probably the best for combat, but this is far from the worst, and the first boss fight was fun. Rolling and dodging feel appropriate, no cheap hitboxes going on. No complaints.
I also like that improving your skills, and there's a good variety of them, gives clearly explained benefits. Marginal improvements to gameplay, mostly, not just unlocking new recipes and nothing else. Makes it feel a little more worth it.
You unlock the ability to levitate short distances. Spoiler, sorry. But it's great. Gliding in Enshrouded takes you vast distances, but it doesn't take you upward. In this game, you get to move upward when you need to. And they didn't overdo it, so it doesn't feel cheap. I love it.
Finally, the scenery in the game is absolutely phenomenal. You can tell someone put a lot of effort into making sure the landscape looks nice. The character models themselves are good but not great, and the statues in the distance look a little... smooth, i guess? But overall, the design and scenery and everything about how the game looks are fantastic. The lighting and landscape are enough to sell it for me, since I really dig that sort of thing. Fortunately the rest of the game is good to match it.
