Tropico 4: The Academy DLC
Due to a budget SNAFU (for which Penultimo is not responsible), the remote island of Isla Guerra is revolting against El Presidente’s regime. Tropico needs to recruit skilled cadets via the new East Point Academy and prepare for a large scale assault by an invading enemy army.

As others have said it turns females into males and is a bug years after the fact.

Great dlc. Adds a lot of content. Although not as much as the others. It would be better if it was given away for free.

The new building, East Point Academy, is a useful addition to the game. The new mission which comes with this DLC is interesting and challenging to play with. Well worth the money.

Useless minor DLC that is also bugged and makes girls turn male. Developers never bothered to fix this.

Unlike some of the others in this series (e.g., Voodoo), this one didn't seem at all challenging. I kept waiting for a plot twist or escalation but never got one.

Building: Sucks. Has a spelling error in the description. Just use the college, there usually isn't a choke on students anyhow. Great though that they added being transgender to the game - only reasonable with the gay marriage edict
Trait: Never used but I can't see it being that useful
Outfut: dgaf
Mission: Quite easy. You just have to fight against rebels, and are provided missions which give you easy money but increase rebel strength slightly (which is hardly a tradeoff seeing that you can simply buy loads of soldiers).
Summary: not good

The Academy is the 9th tiny stuff DLC for Tropico 4. Probably the weakest one.
The mission is weird. You get asked to build stuff, given money to do it, then you are given the reward of more money. Then you rush it down quickly, get no real time pressure, no restriction and no sudden turns of events, then expectingly face one rebel battle, but because you already have all soldiers and money you need, it's fine. Still kinda fun, didn't frustate me or anything, but weak.
East Point Academy building seems to be lame too. Like a college, but generals train soldiers. In a mission it failed to do same thing as college. The only good thing I can imagine about it is that students can still fight as awful soldiers while educating.

The Academy is shmuck bait. It is a college, albeit a military college, but is more expensive than a regular college, AND a regular college can be set to provide military education anyway. It's like trading away a shotgun that can turn into a shovel for a more expensive shotgun that can't turn into a shovel and needing to buy a shovel separately. If you so badly need absolute elite shock troops that it's worth having a permanent military college that can't be set to normal education in times of peace, then you have bigger problems in-game than this DLC can address.

The academy building is bugged and converts female high school educated tropicans into MALE college educated tropicans.
Either this building is bugged, simply due to poor game testing on this DLC, or this feature needs to be better explained in game.
