Vigilante is the sixth bite-sized DLC for Tropico 4. Despite the theming, Vigilante's main attraction is the new Labor Camp building, which I dare say isn't very vigilante-like. It lets you imprison whoever you want and force them to grow crops indefinitely, or until you free them. Economically it's quite useful, if you want to be actively evil. Alter Ego, the new trait, is useful if a little ridiculous. The useful part is cheaper arrests and a 30% reduction in crime, the ridiculous part is the implication it gives that El Presidente is basically Zorro or a tropical Punisher. Despite the store page text, the actual in-game description doesn't show any tourism or Nationalist faction bonus. Funnily enough, the base game already [i]has[/i] a trait (Vigilante) that reduces crime. The mission, named "The Superhero", starts in 1970 and is...interesting. It has you inventing a superhero persona for yourself, and one of the crises you must face in order to do this is a crime wave, which the game encourages you to solve by building Labor Camps to imprison them in. Leveraging the power of the state to put criminals in forced labor camps isn't exactly vigilante-like, but it IS very dictator-like. Aside from that, it's one of the wackier DLC missions. Lastly, the new outfit is more or less just a Zorro mask and outfit. It's another one of those appropriately goofy things you could imagine an eccentric Latin American dictator possibly wearing. It's...certainly something. Buy it in the complete bundle if you play this game and want to evilmaxx with concentration camps.
