It still holds up! I played more of Red Faction 1 but this was one of the first franchises I remember falling in love with. The bouncy almost Quake like feel. Down with Ultor!

Score: 1/5 An aggressively unpleasant experience. The devs should be ashamed. The Good Better graphics than the original Armor and weapon designs look fine, with some being cool/good Voice acting is alright The Bad Gameplay Level selection is confusing Gunplay, Firearm SFX, Unrealistic recoil, NPC reactions to being hit by bullets Movement feels floaty/inprecise Camera control is rough too, has a stutter or something Writing, dialogue Enemy AI and animations Music/Soundtrack Night-vision hurts my eyes bad Cutscenes are supposed to be action-packed and dramatic but are lame instead. The first one shows an enemy repeatedly shooting into a wall trying to hit the our squad/plane on the other side, followed by us landing and our squad and theirs dying one-by-one with no shots fired or melee taking place until the player is the last one standing. Non-sensical situations/in-universe logic. Guard towers are built on top of highly explosive, unprotected generators? Enemies repeatedly destroy their own walls/buildings with RPGs in order to get LoS on the player? I'm going to go play something else.
