Honestly... I enjoyed the game but sometimes it felt impossible. You have 6 guys now take out the entire Nazi army. I would sit and launch every mortar praying it would take out the enemy trench line... but super fun playing as a tank

Brutal, Unforgiving, and Historically Powerful
Condemned Heroes is one of the most intense, sobering RTS experiences I’ve ever played. It dives into the harsh reality of Soviet penal battalions during WWII. Units made up of disgraced soldiers and political prisoners sent on near-suicidal missions. It’s a subject rarely explored in games, and here it’s handled with brutal authenticity.
This isn’t your typical strategy game. It’s punishing and forces you to think and adapt with limited resources and overwhelming odds. But that’s the point. The gameplay mirrors the desperation and sacrifice those real soldiers endured.
If you’ve played Men of War: Vietnam, expect a similar level of difficulty—but this might be even tougher. The missions feel handcrafted to reflect real tactics, environments, and the emotional weight of every loss. There’s no power fantasy here, just gritty, grounded war.
Visually and atmospherically, it’s incredibly cinematic. The sound design, tension, and bleak environments sell the tone perfectly. It’s not flashy, but it’s honest, immersive, and respectful of the history it’s portraying.
If you’re looking for a historically grounded, no-holds-barred RTS that pulls you into the most brutal corners of WWII, this is one of the best, and most underrated, titles you’ll find. The Men of War / Call to Arms series is one of my favorites for their realism, cinematic scenarios, and historical accuracy.
