Kairosoft is always my favorite developer since I still played on my phone. I also bought Nintendo Switch just to play those pixel games. I was so excited when finally I got to play it on PC instead of a phone and other platforms

Forest Camp Story is the best Kairosoft game. World Cruise story functions well, but it ain't no Forest Camp Story which nails every aspect of a perfect game. World Cruise Story is a little too slow for a love. The tune that loops on World Cruise Story gets old quickly. Same concept, build higher. The higher the decks, the more money you receive for your suites, and the happier the V.I.P.'s that visit your ship will be.

🚢 World Cruise Story – Set Sail for Fun and Fortune! 🌍✨
Ahoy there, aspiring captains! If you've ever dreamed of steering a luxury cruise liner while fending off bored VIPs, then World Cruise Story is your ticket to nautical hilarity! 🛳️💼 Forget about boring office jobs; this is the ultimate desk job—if your desk was on a boat and your coworkers were glamorous guests looking for entertainment!
Imagine this: you’re at the helm, navigating through tropical waters, and suddenly, a VIP approaches you with a request. “I’d like a five-star dinner and a pet dolphin, please!” 🐬🍽️ No problem! You whip up a delicious menu and organize an impromptu dolphin show—because why not? In this game, you’re the captain, chef, and entertainment director all rolled into one!
The pixel graphics are like a blast from the past, making your adventures feel delightfully retro. 🌈 And let's be honest, there's something hilariously charming about tiny pixelated guests demanding extravagant services. "Excuse me, Captain, my cocktail is too cold!" Seriously, can you even?! 🍹🥶
Strategizing your cruise route while keeping your passengers happy is like playing a game of nautical chess. You’ll need to balance your resources, upgrade your ship, and cater to the whims of your guests—all while trying to avoid the dreaded "boredom iceberg." 🧊😱
World Cruise Story is more than just a game; it’s a voyage filled with laughter, strategy, and maybe even a few pirates (just kidding... or am I? 🏴☠️). So, grab your captain's hat, gather your crew, and set sail for the most entertaining cruise of your life. Bon voyage! 🌊🎉

I have a couple of Kairosoft games, and I enjoyed this one. For me, the challenge was about right and I managed to get ll 6 achievements without too much wailing and gnashing of teeth, unlike games like Pocket Stables and Hot Springs Story - which is 99 years in game time wise but I cant get the best spa award despite pumping nearly half a billion yen into my spa.
In this game, you basically fit out your cruise ship with cabins, entertainment and decorations. Many of these you unlock through meeting certain requirements. You can buy Price Seeds to increase the rent of your cabins and dining rooms etc to help make more money to expand with. You need Quality seeds to satisfy the important people visiting the ship and so unlock more things.
There is a new game plus aspect where you can get different coloured carpets for your ship, but once you finish the game to your satisfaction, you probably won't bother. All the Kairosoft games I have played so far are massively grindy and this is no different.
It is not going to win any awards for graphics quality but the characters themselves are interesting enough. The plus side is that it'll run on a potato pc no problem.
All in all, its one of the better ones in the series I've played so far, so I would recommend it if you want to try one for the first time.

World Cruise Story is simple in premise and gameplay, but offers a whole lot of heart in its customisation and charm. In this title you setup the layout of a world cruiser ship in an attempt to wow guests, professional reviewers and even new demographics from undiscovered countries. There is a whole bunch to unlock and a large amount of space to personalise to your liking, in particular the feature of having multiple floors to adjust really makes this game shine. Despite being one of the earlier Kairosoft games and having more limiting gameplay, these gameplay elements are extremely well done making it an enjoyable and replayable experience. I rate this title 8.5 out of 10.

I got 630,000 points on my first run. Is that good?
Anyway, the game is average. Nothing wrong with that, not saying it negatively. I enjoyed my playthrough but doubt I'll play it again. By the end of the story I was ready for it to end, as the gameplay loop had lost a lot of my interest by then. Solid game for 10 hours, a bit of a grind for the last 5-7.
It's got some charming elements to it, like the creativity they put in to characters, tourism mechanics, naming countries, etc. It's cute like that. The system which tabulates the quality of your facilities is pretty simplistic and very easy to manipulate. If you find yourself getting stuck trying to please a king, literally just trap him on a floor with your very best attractions so that he has the time to walk to as many high-quality attractions as possible. Figuring this out basically broke the game for me and I checked off every single goal in my first run. You can also do this to reviewers to get 2000 score on reviews.
Ultimately, it gets the recommend from me. It's just not your next 100+ game, so maybe grab it on sale.

Kairosoft has this weird knack for creating games that look like mobile shovelware but are actually quite good, chill simulations of whatever they decide they want to make a sim about.
It's not super deep, but it's cute, charming, feels like it gets enough that's unique about a cruise ship right that it doesn't feel like a quick coat of paint over a totally different sim, and has just enough decision points that it doesn't feel completely mindless.
Though man, it makes me wish for a way deeper cruise line management sim.
