I'll save you time and say: when it ended at around 22 hours, I was upset. While it was a bit sudden, I had hoped there were 20 more hours.

For me it's literally unplayable with a controller and the most broken experience I've had with a fully released game. It seems that's not the case for many others though, so take that into consideration. In the prologue I struggled to walk down a linear pathway as my character would randomly move in a different direction, or would walk in place, or would just teleport to a different spot in the path. After a while I was finally able to get to the scene where a battle occurs, but I could almost never enter in battle commands. The controls were just ignored, though with enough button spamming I was able to get one attack off. Thankfully it seems that you're suppose to lose that fight. After the next scene you are given control back, but I can't even exit the area because now "down" opens the map instead. This wasn't even an issue in the prologue... it somehow got even worse. It'd be fair to argue that I should just play using the KB, but I'm not about to spend hours playing a game after experiencing several massive problems, because who knows what other issues I'll run into down the line. They literally lost all credibility within minutes.

Unfortunately I don't have much to say. This seems like a game I would love but I just didn't. Had to drop it out of boredom.

In terms of music, UI, and Art, the game is good. In terms of story, and gameplay it's not. It's frustrating to just move around and navigate the world due to random bits of terrain and geometry blocking your path in annoying and unnatural ways. I suspect the developer wanted to give the players a more dynamic world to move in and just made it frustrating instead. The combat is serviceable but doesn't offer anything really new or interesting. You get a super attack after attacking an enemy three times in a single encounter, but it's not really an engaging mechanic, and just delays combat against trash enemies until you use it or just use magic. There's not much to engage with there. Then there's the story. Admittedly it may get better as I am only a couple of hours in, but it's just boring. There's nothing gripping to pull me along with the story or with character progression.

The game itself is great but the crashing is not. I just lost a bunch of progress.... again. Dropped from lvl 24 to lvl 21...

Ara fell 2? Well, I'm just 8 hour in but I'm enjoying it a lot, combat us super fun, the world it shelf it's big with lots of exploration. But I still can't help to see it as "Ara fell 2" it's copy paste in a big amount of aspects (wich I don't care cuz I loved Ara fell)

It would be great if the game didn't freeze during boss battles, therefore wasting my time.

This game has been a joy to play. The characters all have a very distinctive voice event through reading the dialogue. I was so grateful that i could play the game using controller as i'm not too much of a mouse and keyboard player. You can tell the creator put a lot of love and time into this project. I know that it was there first, and I'm excited to see future projects from them. The experience felt nostalgic showing their love for classic JRPGs. And thats what I feel like many games are missing today and are looking to just make a profit, as apposed to showing their passion and creating a heartfelt game where you can see the joy in the product. I can't wait to see more from this developer.

I'm really trying to not be hyper-critical of this game. The music is wonderful, the pixelart, UI design, is all fantastic. But at 2 hours in to the game and I have no urge to finish it other than I feel obligated to because I purchased it. The world is beautiful but I keep getting stopped and stuck on random pieces of geometry that really shouldn't have collision. The combat is a step up from the original Final Fantasy games and feel pretty great and moderately challenging/satisfying. And my biggest issue is I really do not feel engaged or connected to any of the characters. I finished Chapter 1 hoping I'd feel something more, but getting into Chapter 2 feels more of the same. The characters feel generic and angst-y like they came straight out of a young adult novel. I'm really feeling like this story just isn't for me. Everything else about this game, I love and really want to support the creators but I don't think I can play any more of it.
