I love this game because it is easy to play, addons are easy, takes less space than msfs 2020, supports offline, and more!

Not very useful with keyboard and mouse, but I bought a used logictec flight yoke system off facebook swap and it makes the game work way better. actually enjoyable now.

X-plane 12 is pretty good, not as detailed or as accurate as MSFS 2020 but pretty good. It's worth trying this simulator first to see if this type of game is what you like before spending the big bucks and have to upgrade all your equipment and buy lots of add-ons. This game has lots of free add-ons once I figure out how to install them on my MAC.

Do yourself a favor and don't download the DLC provided here. Use Ortho4XP and download individual tiles you'd like. It's smaller, faster and way higher quality.
Other than that, the sim is good, but can be enhanced vastly with mods. The physics are far superior to MSFS 22. If you use the master list of mods (Google it), it can exceed MSFS.
I like practicing flights and simulating crashes in this game around major North American cities. MSFS doesn't help much with that.

As someone who primarily flies airliners, X-Plane is hands down the superior sim compared to MSFS 2020/2024.
It does require some tweaking and a few essential addons (SimHeaven, map enhancements, etc.), but once set up, it performs better, the flight physics are far more realistic, and the visuals can easily compete.
The replay function is also great, perfect for reviewing landings and flights in full detail, something MSFS still lacks.
You’ll also find a lot of thirdparty study-level aircraft from top-tier developers like FlightFactor and Toliss. Want to fly a 737-800? The free Zibo mod outclasses most MSFS payware.
For airliner simmers, X-Plane is the clear winner.

Good simulator. Nothing imma add to that, asides from one thing.
During the first flight lessons mission when he asks you to adjust the flaps, if you have your flightstick already mapped, the dialog changes to "HEY! You have a joystick!" and i love that attention to detail.
