If you desire a REAL flight simulator (unlike what MSFS has become) then I highly suggest X-plane 12, if you are a real world pilot that loves to use flight simulator too.... then again choose X-plane because Laminar Research use cutting edge technology to ensure aircraft handle exactly the way they should and the flight dynamics are unmatched by any other flight simulator..... in short X-plane 12 is absolutely not a Game its a REAL simulator !! No easy shortcuts here..... you HAVE to understand flight and how to correctly fly aircraft to use X-plane 12.

Sadly I cannot recommend this. Yes the physics and flight models are supposedly far better than other sims, but the fact remains that even after installing map enhancement, world scenery and some paid addons like global forests this still looks like a sim from 20 years ago. I flew my local area and it was unrecognisable. If this sim had the fidelity of msfs2020 then it would be the only sim I'd play. Unfortunately immersion isn't just mathematical models working in harmony, it includes visuals. Also the price of addons are extortionate (Toliss anyone?). This is because of the much smaller market that drives the prices up. Over 12 iterations now and this still looks dreadful..... UPDATE 18th JUNE - I gave this ANOTHER chance and spent almost £80 on OrbX scenery for the UK - it still looks crap compared with FS2020 - uninstalled for good.

Great simulator! Only thing I feel lacking is the lessons for complete beginners, similar to the ones from Microsoft Flight Simulator X.

Amazing game, the scenery, graphics, sounds are all extreamly high quality!

Good simulator. Nothing imma add to that, asides from one thing. During the first flight lessons mission when he asks you to adjust the flaps, if you have your flightstick already mapped, the dialog changes to "HEY! You have a joystick!" and i love that attention to detail.

i love xplane's atmosphere, it feelz so cozy nd nice, definitely recommend buying / trying out the demo (i even have bought MSFS 2020, but it cannot compete with xplane 12's atmosphere imo)

It seems that X-Plane and RTX 5090 don’t play well together…. Yet, hopefully a fix is in the works, crashes when I popout map or instrumentation all the way to a widowed frame, it starts eating memory until it crashes….. lots of logs sent in. Is anyone experiencing this?

Way better than MSFS 2024 especially if you have low-mid end pc. Even at low fps its very responsive and the night lighting is incredible but the graphics are still not on same level as MSFS but it is worth the trade off for better flight characteristics and night lighting. Also, with a lot of freeware mods you could actually make it look better than MSFS. Highly recommend if youre into IFR flights.
