Not going to win any awards, but if you like horror games, it's decent enough and worth picking up on sale. If you're poor better play doto 2 even if Shame Legacy is likely to give you less cancer.

destructive creations released another little masterpiece, and by little i mean its a small game i wanted more. But it runs well no bugs , superb atmosphere, top notch voice acting , in general a nice horror game. 6,5/10. support the small developers and also check aout their previous releases, war mongrels and ancestors legacy both diamonds in their genre.

This game... is a "shame" of a game. The story is all over the place for starters. The random flashbacks don't really explain much... and the fact that William ends up in areas inexplicably for moments just breaks up any continuity to the story. The voice acting was abhorrent to listen to. It was either their first gig ever... or they really "phoned it in" for this one. The gameplay is very very repetitive. The game tells you how to sprint... but don't get your hopes up... you'll spend 85% of this game crouching to hide from all the random placed enemies (even the damn people being sacrificed are your enemies). The only thing about this game that was even remotely alright was the visuals. The setting was nice for a horror game... a little cramped at times to make you figure out paths around the enemies... but nice assets to look at a lot of the time. The monster chasing you is kinda lame to be honest. I feel like it could've been much creepier when you look at the visuals in the landscape... and the villagers you're trying to avoid. I won't give this game an all the way at the bottom score though... because I have played much worse. I just had higher hopes for this game. Overall I'd say this game gets a "D" rating for me.

Well, first of all: I like the game!
The graphics are nice and smooth. I had no bugs and no problems while playing.
But: the story is rather flat and the ending also leaves a lot of room for interpretation.
The gameplay actually consists of only 3 parts. First, sneaking around to find your way between opponents. I like that best because it's not that easy and there's a good horror atmosphere. Second, running away from the fire demon, and third, solving some mediocre puzzles.
Then you also have to mention that you get just 3 hours of playing time for 20-25€.
If I compare it with Outlast, for example (which comes very close to that in terms of the gameplay), then Shame Legacy comes off rather poorly.
Still, I give a thumbs up because the game is well made.
But everyone's tastes are different.

Decent game so far, but the defensive "combat" system is beyond annoying. Even amping up my mouse sensitivity to align the icons does nothing, and most of the time as I do align them the icon I'm moving suddenly shifts far to the opposite side and I die. Or a random villager just kills me outright despite the exact parameters last time I got to defend myself were nearly identical.
You also cannot rebind the keys. In the discussions it was said they planned to introduce the option, but it appears that never happened. This just makes the game harder to play as a disabled man thanks to chance scenes utilizing e, space, and ctrl, all the while my gimp hands lack fingers that can bend that way.
Had this on my wishlist for a while. Grabbed it for $3 on sale, and man I'm glad I did. I'm gonna try to finish this as I feel the above issues at this point are just mocking me. Had it been full price it definitely would have been.

The game has a nice spooky atmosphere and it does scare you from time to time. The mechanic of defending yourself is not the easiest if you don't have huge space for your mouse movement :D
Overall recommended for spending 2h in a dark room playing.

This game is the Shame of the developers. It has game mechanics from 10 years ago. The door opening part is a joke, it is just a time waster element with no real challenge. The NPCs are technically blind, they have this weird behavior, they instantly stuck to you. The screaming NPCs and the fire demon thing is so annoying it breaks immersion. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone.

Bought it on sale. Still not worth it. Its not all garbage, but voice acting is subpar at best, constantly takes control from the player, piss poor puzzle design, and often breaks what little immersion it manages to build. Had great potential, but the developers did not deliver. Sad.

Aggravating. The animations are drawn out. Climbing or jumping off a ledge is takes forever. Stealth, whats the point of stealth when the enemy can "smell your vinegar." I'm hiding behind a tree and he's 20 feet away and just charges at me. Am I supposed to cross a river so they can lose my scent?

The game plays very solid, which in 2023 is a true sign of the devs caring, however the story is well not really there and it takes awhile building up and even then you are not sure what is going on. The sounds are also sadly like most "horror survival games" and very loud, very loud does not mean scary it is just a pain in the butt. The combat brings me to the reason i am refunding, to escape from being chased you must line up the mouse correctly mutiple times in order to get the option to fend them off which i did successfully but then somehow died. I really can not recommend it as getting away from enemies should not be this hard, maybe a bit trying but having to push the mouse to a certain point several timess was already imo a bit too much. Also the story sseems like it has been told many times before, a guy in a village with evil cults.. na for me at least. But hey if this sounds interesting to you give it a go.
