Pretty good!
It felt like most of the puzzles were on the easy side. A few puzzles are solvable through pure guesswork because the possibility space is too small. A few are off-the-shelf puzzle types are used, but they are at least well integrated. Also, Act3 had some refreshing complications.
Exploring is great. The art in general and multiple animated cutscenes really make this game. I loved the alien notebook and the subtle world building in the different locations.
A bit of a shortcoming: We learn nothing of our protagonist, her commentary is rather sparse. I would have liked some more exposition in the beginning and more thoughts on the environments. In comparison, it feels like in the End, we know more of the alien.
The ending is a little too twist heavy...
Overall, a good experience for adventure game fans.

I really enjoyed this game. The puzzles were challenging, but not impossible, and they get a little bit harder as you go. It's a mix of logic puzzles, hunting for clues in one location to apply to another, and object gathering. I managed to get through the game without a walkthrough, but I was stuck a few times and was tempted to find one.
The real highlight of the game is the setting and story. It reminded me a little of Lucasarts' The Dig, but better in so many ways. The art and animations are impressive., and I was immersed in the world despite it being a pixel graphic game. The pixel cutscenes and animations had a style I really appreciated. Fluid and with a limited palette...reminded me a bit of the game Another World
The game uses compass navigation (first person with N/S/E/W options on each screen). I don't usually like this, but the volume of locations (and artwork) more than makes up for it.

Tight little point & click adventure that whips along nicely; good retro style graphics give it the feel of a classic, but the sound & music is a little more modern. The first three or four acts have plenty of logical puzzles for you to solve with your wits and imagination, but the last act does devolve into a lot of arbitrary button pushing. The inclusion of the journal was a nice touch, giving you an extra in-game artefact to mine for clues & codes.

Really beautiful game, the pixel art, animations, sound design, and voice acting are all incredible. There's lots of love clearly put into it. I got stuck at times but reliably was able to find the solution by thinking within all of the mechanics at my disposable for that delightful eureka feeling. The code book is maybe my favourite touch. I'm really tempted to go back and try and fully crack it. Short and sweet. I love adventure games but haven't played them in a while and this was a very appreciated welcome home.

A nice Point & Click with a great artstyle. I love the incredibly detailed pixel art, and the use of cutscenes when solving puzzles or finding items. The puzzles were good, with each act ramping up in difficulty.

I'll admit this right from the beginning. I have no idea how this game got into my Steam account. But I'm glad it did.
Really great game. Some of the puzzles were hindered a bit by the retro graphics. Sometime it was hard to tell if it was just some scenery, or a bush you could click on to reveal a part of the puzzle, so click on everything. But the game was far better than a lot of point and click escape room style games I've played. Great story to.
Props to the developers. You people made a great game!!!

A nice little Point n Click with some really smooth animations. The first two acts are pretty simple, but the puzzle get tougher in the latter acts. Expect to write down some notes as you go along.

Definitely a YES vote.
PROS:
What's great about this game is the way it mixes a modern, high resolution HUD interface with more pixelated scenes and animations reminiscent of classic adventure games. It's nice that it has voice acting, and the music is fun. The alien journal itself is a piece of art. The story is a bit of a mystery. In some ways it reminded me of The Dig but without addictive alien crystals.
Also, I love that you can press space to see what's clickable.
CONS:
Sometimes the cut scene animations feel a bit simple. Also, the puzzles tend to be on the simpler side - find a control panel, find in journal or scrawled on a wall somewhere the password for the control panel. Puzzle solved. But I still found it to be fun. The way the map works is you go forward or backwards. Often I found going backwards across the map to be a little confusing. Without giving spoilers, the game does give you some explanation near the end, but I would have loved to learn more.

Unfortunately, I have to mostly agree with a certain other negative review.
Overall: get it for cheap (I'd say ~$3-4) if you're looking for a very simple puzzle game to kill some time. Don't get it if you want consistently interesting puzzles or an in-depth story / voice acting / etc.
The good:
- Animation and art is really nice
- *Some* of the puzzles are interesting
- The story is somewhat interesting.... to a point
- The
alien notebook
was actually quite fun to peruse and figure out
The bad:
- The voice acting and dialogue kinda sucks. The protagonist:
- is way too comfortable with the fact that she was stranded on an alien planet with no way to fix her ship
- is perpetually high on shrooms or something? I see no other way to explain the total lack of concern in her voice
- seems to be half-omnicient, knowing what devices are for / if they're working / etc when she really shouldn't
- A good number of the puzzles kinda just suck. For instance:
- "Rotate the block(s) to fit". Not bad the first time, but it literally requires zero thought to solve. We aren't toddlers - we know there are only a handful of orientations a 3D shape can take when slotting into a given hole.
- "You can move ball up/down/left/right but it only stops rolling when hitting a wall; now make it enter a goal". Been done to death and really doesn't require much thought to solve.
- Some of it feels like filler. In one act, there are three different major areas (i.e. containing many sub-areas) you have to go back and forth between to solve the puzzles and continue on. Moving between major areas consists of several button presses interspersed between the same animations you've seen 500 times already from going through the same place before. At least make the animations skippable after the first time.
- Although the larger animations/cutscenes are really well made, they're also short and tend to end abruptly. They're also typically accompanied by the same music every time.
The Abandoned Planet offers a haunting sci-fi experience filled with mystery, atmosphere, and environmental storytelling. It’s not action-packed, but it keeps you thinking — and on edge.
GOOD:
✔️Beautifully desolate world design
✔️Strong atmosphere and audio design
✔️Engaging narrative without heavy exposition
BAD:
❌Slow pacing won’t appeal to everyone
❌Easy puzzles
❌Occasional unclear objectives
Verdict: A moody, immersive experience for fans of quiet sci-fi and environmental storytelling. Best played with headphones.
