Sugarcreek is a very heartfelt little game. It's a bit of a slice-of-life adventure, which centers on a group of teens looking for the protagonist's sister. The game primarily consists of dialogue, exploration, rpg-like battles, and mini-games. The characters are greatly written and each felt unique and likable. Each had their own things they were going through, and all of them were relatable in their own way. Darby is my favourite, but Charlotte is a close second. The game's graphics are very charming. It involves furry-type characters drawn in a style reminiscent of MS Paint, and it honestly felt quite nostalgic. It was nice to see the story cutscenes and I looked forward to seeing what new characters would appear next. The voice acting and music are both really good. Hazel's voice actress is my favourite, but everyone did a great job. The music helped convey the mood perfectly. To conclude, I really liked Sugarcreek, and I enjoyed my time with it. The game's exploration of themes like self-doubt and personal responsibility are incredibly understandable and powerful, and I think the game's biggest message is that we all want to be accepted for who we are.
