Fun as hell!

So far you get: 3 regions 9 helicopters (+variants) 11 mission types Dev is a top dude and implemented solutions for my issues and fixed the bugs I'd found. At the moment it doesn't have a dynamic campaign, but he's since added variable difficulty settings and a seed generator. Shareable mission seeds mean that campaigns are being made by the community. Even in it's current state I'd consider it "finished" enough to say it's worth buying. Similar to a modern Enemy Engaged Comanche vs Hokum, or Jane's Longbow 2 - although not trying to be a hardcore sim. Controls are somewhat confusing and may put some people off. Personally, I couldn't use an Xbox controller out of frustration but it works well with my Logitech EXTREME 3D pro. I even wrote a guide if the default scheme isn't working for you. Come get your AH-56 Cheyenne fix!

great helo sim and great successor to Microprose Gunship series!

Just awesome. Brings back memories from the good ol' days playing "Jane's AH-64D Longbow" and the likes.

Absolutely barebone. No campaign, DCS-tier detailed helicopter with "retro" textures for no reasons, just a simple mission generator with the typical basic Unity UI font, this feel more like a "proof of concept" for someone looking for a job in the video game industry than an early access title. Nice OST but there's only one track so you might as well mute it because it repeat itself. The devs is more focused on releasing new helicopters (and even a plane for god know what reason) than actually making this into a complete game first and then adding new content. Do yourself a favor, learn how to make mission in arma 3 instead and you'll have a more complete experience than this can offer, just wait for the dev to finally decide what to do with this thing and only get it when it's out of EA.

I have tried playing this game with HOTAS, XBox contoller, and mouse and keyboard. The controls for this game are a mess. Out of the box the controls are either not mapped at all or are mapped seemingly at random. On my HOTAS 'Cycle targets' was bound to my firing triggers and firing weapons was bound to the keyboard! You can rebind your keys but when you do the game wont tell you what you are unbinding, sou you have to go hunting for what got unbound. On top of that there is no tutorial, so you better know how everything works before you start up or you are going to have miserable time.

This is an awesome "Light Sim". Just know that before you purchase. You won't get the depth of DCS World, but the key to this is the fact that it's easy to get into, and FUN. I've been a simmer since my late teens, and I'm also a real life private pilot. Mostly fixed wing, but I have some rotary time as well. This sim reminds me of the very early simulations that got me into flight simming, and eventually into real flying. Even though it's still at a very early stage, it's well worth the purchase, and the creator and the community have some great ideas to add to this with DLC in future and to keep expanding on it. Don't think that you can "run and gun" with this sim though; you are really going to have to work out your tactics, or you well get your ass handed to you (as I have found out) :-) Even if Jimmy were to stop development now, I would still be happy with my purchase. It's well worth the price. Hopefully in future we may see some additional terrains, I think naval / overwater and snow / winter would be a lot of fun. But I also know that building terrains is one of the most time consuming parts of a project like this. Be patient and so much more is planned, you will see. And I will definitely be purchasing the developers next sim as well. Thanks for all of your work Jimmy, know it's appreciated.

A very solid indie helicopter game that takes me back to the old Janes Longbow and DI Hind games. Only been flying in the "Sim" style controls with a HOTAS and aside from my own issues lasing/designating targets I have found it very easy and intuitive to pick up and start flying. I'm excited to see what this team does with it moving foward
