This game is minimalistic, bordering on the *sparse,* but it's fun for all that, and requires a good deal of forethought and strategy. It's a lot like chess, but with Lovecraftian horrors that eat you if you mess up.

Not a lot of games made these days that aim to stimulate the imagination. This is one of them, and it does it real well, giving a sense of mechanics-based exploration that's real satisfying. It also does eldritch horror in a way that actually is reflective of classic lovecraftian themes (the idea of things existing that are so powerful they're beyond your comprehension; you can't beat them, you can only hope they don't notice or care about you). Plays like an RTS without the RT, your build order being the main strategic puzzle. Def recommend it~

is it fun? yeah! great value for money, Krular is turn based Kingdoms with a more mechanically complex resource system. successful defences are satisfying, the alchemy and mechanics are fun to decipher. the enemies are goofy. would greatly benefit from a more forgiving defence/sandbox mode and/or a more hardcore mode for the actually intended escape mechanics. i had heaps of fun building extensive supply chains, but (at time of writing) the enemies easily overpower perfectly staffed buildings. when i've bothered with the actual survival/campaign system, it's been a bit tedious. the game is currently available as a roguelike and the roguelite mode is in beta. at a guess, the dev will likely include an option to choose between the two when they're content with eithers' progression the dev is personally invested in creating a fun experience and it shows. again, the game is great fun - especially for the price of admission. i'm excited to see how the game matures as post-release development continues.

Good atmosphere, fun light resource management action, some of the structure choices aren't very good / feel like false choices atm but it doesn't cost much to find that out and never use them again. Game is effectively just one long static level, there's some small rng with wave modifiers but nothing that adds too much replay value. Also game is totally winnable without moving your castle, just rush your beacon asap and you can charge it up before the void reaches you.

This game is great! Very challenging but a real hidden gem. If you play the demo it feels impossible because certain buildings aren't available, but it does open up in the full game. Even with everything available it is really difficult. One of those games were each time you play you get a bit further and learn something new.

Absolutely wonderful presentation. The pixel art, the "damaged" cards, the sound effects, and the eldritch horror ambiance. The dev absolutely nails it. The game has survival colony sim elements, which of course boils down to managing a few core resources (four at first, and a few others you'll run into as you go, plus combinations/refining) with most actions taking a "turn" in the day. The real allure to me was the sense of adventure, trying to figure out new recipes, all with that impending gloom, the inescapable all-devouring maw slowly (and not so slowly) closing in on you, making a towering fortress feel like a sand castle. There's enough going on that it took me a few tries to beat the game-- there's a wonderfully paced amount of complexity that layers on as time goes. For me the pacing felt like my job was to just keep things from slipping out of my hands just enough to-- well, I wont spoil anything more. In true horror fashion , the game doesn't hold your hand. All in all, the largest issue is that it lacks much in terms of replayability, but it's a great way to occupy an evening or two for just $USD 3.

This game is GREAT! An actual weird wonder, honestly. I saw it in Splattercat's YT, and it blew mi mind. Cool ideas! Try the demo, and see if it is your thing. Note that YOU CAN'T WIN the demo! There are many missing structures needed for that, so you are supposed to just see how the game is, and lose :)

Reminds me of one of the better Sokpop games, except the dev actually seems to care about balance and longevity (do we still say "oh, snap?"). I suppose the runs take a bit longer than I would like and there are perhaps half as many cards as I would care to see (if I have seen them all, and I think I have, but not sure). Those are the only two flaws worth mentioning. The best things about the game is the opacity. Everything works in a particular way and makes abundant sense, but you have to pay attention and figure out what's going on by hashing your way through -- classic PC gaming. It took two runs to have a solid grasp of how everything worked, and by run two I was already trying a particular strategy and had three more I wanted to try in the future. I still have a couple of experiments I want to try to see if I actually have my notions straight about some of the cards. If this looks at all like your kind of game, you should give it a go. The demo promises a particular experience, and the full game delivers. Easy recommendation. And, dude, this game is $3!! What do you want?

Usually I don't recommend a game that's still got a game breaking bug in it, but I think the game is worth the 3 bucks even though it's crashing and I can't finish the game. I feel like I beat it anyway. The final countdown or w/e was almost done. I just lament not knowing what the ending is because there's really nothing else to aspire to with no achievements or anything. But more to information for the game... It's got the cryptic nonsense of some other games, but you can figure it out with a little tenacity. I also think this game will be a bit hard to start with for most, but I thought it was fairly easy personally. I've seen some complaints about it being hard but I just don't agree at all. Just keep in mind the game is turn based so you have as much time as you need to plan ahead. I do wish the game was a little less cryptic for things like how long it will take on individual structures to finish work, how much HP things have, and a little indicator somewhere to let me know that grabbing a card would cost me a turn. The building HP thing would be an easy fix using the old command and conquer standby of showing how beat up the building was. Also I definitely wish there was more to it, but it was 3 bucks and I was very entertained during my time playing which is unusual for these kinds of indie games. I'd rather play this over kingdom nothing lasts any day. It gives you way more control and is just more enjoyable overall IMO. I mean it's got a demo so play that first and it should let you know what you're in for mostly. Though you might get hit with a bug that makes it impossible to win the game. Maybe I shouldn't recommend this. Well, soft recommend. Get it if you really like the way the demo plays.

I enjoyed learning the game mechanics. Not sure how to classify it, but there is a game demo to try before you buy. Played on an Ubuntu desktop with keyboard and mouse controllers.
