The Chronicle is a game about escaping some freaky extra dimensional hell world. The music is on point as you walk around searching for clues on how to escape and it creates a sense of anxiety. There are a few jump scares scattered about the map that you will find as you search for clues and the means to escape. You'll need to use your flashlight as it is quite dark and there is a time limit for your escape as I noticed the health decreasing the longer it took me to exit. If you like affordable jump scare escape room games this is a good buy, being an indie title there are some buggy things but for 4.99 can be overlooked.
I encountered one game breaking bug with the menu settings, the developer is aware and looking into it. Other than that there were no issues running it on my gtx 950 on medium.
I only wish there were more notes to flesh out the world and a few more ambient sounds to keep my anxiety up. As the notes I was reading were quite interesting and I wanted more.
All in all it took me almost an hour and a half to escape, could have taken longer but I got lucky spotting some of the keys for the locked doors.
Not a bad first outing for the developer and if this is chapter 1 i'd like to see a chapter 2 blow it out of the water.

Very atmospheric game by a first-time developer. Rough but shows a lot of promise. Note: use E to pick up things, F to turn on your flashlight. The skeletons tend to have notes left by them. The game does not hold your hand, but after you find the first few notes, you get the rhythm of what's going on.
Fun story. And it's going to expand, which is nice, so this is a first taste.
Worth trying out, really.
You can pet the dog. (or at least interact with it.)
