it really hurts that I have to give this review because I really wanted to like it. However, it is just not there. While I did find some of the game play enjoyable. for instance, the AI is definitely no rookie. The game simply does not operate like normal chess. The king can move multiple spaces, something I never saw before in a game. There is virtually no multi-player (dead community) Plus the animations are more annoying then fun since they are repetitive and take up your time.
While I praise the developers for upgrading the graphics from its 1988 original, there is simply no excuse for leaving it a buggy mess with barley entry level AI in 2024 and pricing it has high as 30$ this game would be acceptable at a 15$ or less.
