If you are a true fan of the Ancient Aliens then you will enjoy this game. I use to play it on my iphone until it got removed and no longer available to play. Thank goodness it's available to play on steam and on the pc.

I installed it, thought I'd play a bit just to see what it was like and when I finally quit the game I had played for 5.1 hours. So, I like it so far. Graphics are only so-so but most graphics are good enough for me, I care more about having fun than graphics. Simplistic in many aspects but very entertaining. Many, most maybe, games I get are just too complicated to be fun.

You are looking for a game that at first glance is not worth the money? You have found it. The graphics seem to be from the same era in which the game is set. The gameplay is... well... simple. Let me put it this way: it feels like a 1970s simulation a la David Ahl and a smartphone game from the 2000s have conceived an illegitimate child. But: The game is fun for me (unfortunately). For fans of EvD & Co. it is a must anyway. For everything else: For five dollars/euros in the sale you can have a look.

I kept hoping that this would be a lot more that what it looked like on the surface. It is not. What is is game really? It is more an incremental game masquerading as a colony/city builder. It is also mobile game poorly ported to the PC. Which is sad because the concept could be great. But this is nothing more than a cash grab. I don't recommend this "game" It is a waste of time and money better spent elsewhere.

I originally played this on mobile and was upset after piling months into building my pyramids that the game was never able to be finished so I bought it on steam when it was released again despite thinking that it wasn't really suited to a PC environment. In a way I was right. This game is suited to playing for a couple of minutes at a time, especially once you've got the upgrades on buildings and it takes longer for them to generate their earnings. the ability to use a mouse to place buildings etc was great if you want to be precise with how you're building your city, but I found a few differences between mobile and pc that made the game easier in almost a boring way. Technology research times were brought way down which meant there was a lot of time between researching just to earn the DNA to start the next tech. And maybe it was just because I played before so knew that I should upgrade as much as a could when I could afford it that for most of the time the only quest I had was to build the pyramid because I had completed quests before they had been issued. Not riveting game play to watch a couple of hundred little dudes go back and forward quarry to pyramid for days. I enjoyed it, but I think it was more enjoyable on mobile

I went into this game thinking it was going to be bad. I bought this game to stream it, as a bit of a meme; so I knew when I went in that I was not getting the next Civilization or Age of Empires. However, this game commits what is possibly the biggest sin a game can commit. It raised my expectations out of the gutter, only to have zero pay off, and leave them back where they belonged. As I said, I went in knowing it would be bad, but the opening of the game is actually rather good. They introduce you to buildings and tech trees, they tell you that you need to make sure the people's needs are met so they continue to breed and work. The goal is to build a pyramid, and as you gain more workers and level them up you start to feel like "hey maybe this isn't so bad". However, just about the time where other games would start to go more in depth with their mechanics, this one just stops. Taking care of your villagers amounts to making sure you have enough houses and farms. Once you have one more food resource and one more house slot, a villager appears to fill the space. There's no overpopulation, there's no starvation, no lack of shelter, the game will not increase your population until there is space for them taking away any form of challenge there may be in maintaining the population. City building amounts to "put a building somewhere". Aside from mines and quarries that have to be built on specific land marks, and obelisks that have an area of effect, there is no benefit to building houses or farms together, no adjacency bonuses, no puzzle element to making sure that you get the best output; again, just have enough farms and houses. Throughout this game, you will have various people talking to you, giving you quests and some of the quests they give you almost feels like the various powers are pulling you in their direction. You have the aliens that need you to mine for gold and hide their influence, Georgio who wants you to find artefacts, the Pharaoh who wants jobs and city improvements, and a priestess who wants you to build temples and decorate the city. With quests from Georgio telling you save relics, and the Alien telling you to destroy them; both the alien and the pharaoh wanting gold; the priestess talking about Gods and Georgio trying to prove gods don't exist, it feels like the perfect set up to a power struggle. This is not a thing. There is even a line of dialogue from the alien when he finds out that the Pharaoh wants you to use gold to pay the workers, and instead of saying "Oi! We need that to save our planet" he just says "Very well" and it's never brought up again. This is truly frustrating because we have the bones of what could be a good game here. I actually really like that one of the resources is plausible deniability, and the cultivation of religion helps hide alien influence, but this is just fluff. In reality, it's a resource to fast build, nothing happens if you run out of deniability points. If the tech trees were more in depth, if there was more in depth and a puzzle element to city building, if there was a morality or power struggle system, this game could be passable. However, none of that exists in this game. It sets you up to think that your actions matter, but so long as you keep placing farms and houses, the game ramps up until you eventually finish the pyramid - which by the way, in the entire time I was playing, I only placed the first layer. If you're thinking of playing this game, do so for the memes - but never forget that it's a shallow experience, even as it shows you the promise of being more than it actually is.

Overall, it is a pretty good game. Though, the biggest problem with the game is that it keeps playing even after you save and quit the game. It is supposed to be a single player game, but it acts like a MMO game. As all timers keep running after you quit the game. As it is right now, you will have to play the game all the way thru without going to bed or anything otherwise you my loose things in the game expecitally from Glyphs. After several hours of play, it is having major problems with having a fatal error and has to restart often. If the issue of the timers are fixed where they actually stop when you exit the game and then start again from where they left off and not springing forward to say hey you lost a lot of stuff because you didn't play the game, and get the issue fixed of the fatal errors. I would be willing to change my recommendation.
