Dialogue heavy in a made up language with subtitles, following a mediocre story. Combat, as described by many other reviews, is unfortunately just not good. Its a shame to have an interesting magic system and relatively unique weapons feel so detached and tedious to use. Its clear they tried to go in a more "tactical" direction than Greedfall 1, which toed the line and had some ARPG elements. The real issue is that Greedfall 1's combat is now relatively dated, and this is undeniably worse. Simply does not stand up in 2025.
Love the world, but won't get to experience it unless combat gets a massive overhaul prior to full launch. Just can't suffer through how slow paced it is. Not really what I'm looking for in a swordplay / gunplay game.

Absolutely do not buy this game if you are a fan of the first one. Dont waste your money if you want an actual sequel. These developers have to learn a lesson. That lesson is to not betray your original fans to try and make something like a bastardized version of Baldur's Gate 3.

This is a luke warm thumbs up. There are a lot of things I don't like about it. But there are just enough pluses to sway me towards a positive review but only because its still in in its early stages. I don't like prequels, if only because I feel like I'm reading a book that the ending is known. Gameplay is annoying, the characters are split, some or interesting while others are idiots. The world is impressive but might not play well on your pc. I believe they have a lot to do, the current release is up to Olima.
