It can clearly be seen that there is some polishing here and there to do. I hope the character creation widens up a bit and improves the facial expressions as just a tad more detail would make a whole lot of difference, but the story is interesting enough to make me forget about it occasionally. The game crashed once in 17 hours, which I consider it way more than fair enough for an early access. Whoever plays those games for the combat, they should go for something more engaging... as it follows the same logic of DAO: great world building, great story and I think the writing is matching the first but if you're here for combat, you will be somehow disappointed. But again, DAO isn't famous for the combat but for the story and world. Loved the first, I think I am going to love this one too!

Oh my. I loved GF1 but this...I dunno what this is. The combat system feels like FF13 except with no depth, no behavior queue, and no phat a$$ rabbit girl. GF1 was a very clunky combat experience**..but it was fun.** I loved the muzzle-loading pistols and rather slow, deliberate combat. This is like a jacked version of DAO. Why? WHY!??????? Not recommended in its current state, but I'm going to hope Spiders doesn't screw this one up.

It took me approximately 9 and half hours to finish this early access build and I have some feedback. Let's start with a basic pros and cons list. Now, these are just my personal opinions and I will be leaving the comments open so we can discuss these bits, if someone feels the need for it. Pros: - Graphics have been improved quite a bit since the og GreedFall - The multicultural continent feels much more interesting to explore than Teer Fradee - Companion characters feel much more interesting than in og GreedFall - I like the areas a lot more than in the og GreedFall Cons: - Protagonist has a very limited access to swords and firearms. Blade and pistol as a possible fighting style was my primary reason for picking up the og title. Limiting the protagonist's pool of potential fighting styles is a clear downgrade from the first game. - Movement feels clumsy. For an action rpg the movement speed is slow and the camera doesn't automatically move with mouse movement, like in the original. Another downgrade. - Survival senses or whatever the 'grey world' mode was called feels unnecessary. It slows your movement down even more and highlights some objects you can spot with your survival talent. Howabout we go back to og, and do all that without turning the world grey, just use the survival talent as a basis for what you actually can see higlighted? Because this feels like yet another downgrade from the original. - Whenever I enter new areas and/or cutscenes, my character goes bald. Devs should already be aware of this but I wanted to point it out. Also, the coastal region after escaping the prison prompts an annoying number of crashes. - Character creation isn't great, while better than in the original. You have very little freedom to choose there and the main choice is between presets. I'd definitely would prefer to choose face and body presets separately. As a bare minimum. - Combat feels like a hybrid between action and turn-based system, not being especially adept as either. It either needs a lot more of polishing or devs need to choose whether they want a turn-based or action rpg. Also, where you were able to equip both a firearm and a melee weapon or ring in the original, now you are stuck with just a single weapon which feel like a massive downgrade to a system I loved in the og title. - Sidequests aren't clearly marked and it literally took me googling for a guide before I found one sidequest's final npc. Please refine that system. - Main story has repetitive elements. The Alliance troops kinda destroy your life twice in the early game. Both abducting you at the end of the prologue and after you find the other Teer Fradeeans in that one cave. I sincerely hope that is the last time Alliance ambushes me in a long time. - And finally, the price tag of 40€ feels ridiculous considering the state and lenght of the current EA build. Don't take my criticism as a bad sign. I point out things I believe that should be improved because I see a great future for this game.

After Exploring the starting Area I have finally made it to the city. I love GF1 combat, voice actors and story, with GF2 I do not have the same feelings: Combat: is overwhelming too many choices and things to click and monitor as if my whole life depends on it, felt like I was playing the Sims with a Battle mod needing to wait for them to move to a location to then have them do the thing and fail because the enemy moved and my characters do not now what to do when there is no target, they don't lock on on them despite having already click on the monster to attack, IF you also do a skill that is an Instant move there no way to direct it towards the enemy or prepare it while your character moves it will just happened and they will absolutely hit nothing and they are on cool down now just swinging away. There does not seem to be any aggro whatsoever, enemies will attack whomever does more damage? Still not quiet sure on that. You can probably taunt a few and round them up but again landing an instant move is very difficult and almost useless. Story: So far is familiar with what we already know and can be surprising at random points but, haven't explore more after arriving to the city to really dive into it. Voice Acting: I love my three musketeers Male De Sardet, Vasco and Kurt and the chaos DUO with both Siora and Petrus, they invoked emotions that really impacted how I was making decisions. as for Shéda and Nílan I wanted nothing more than remove them from my party Shéda had 0 emotional tone to the things she said and Nílan was so arrogant and annoying they really just made a terrible experience been in that Island trying to appreciate it. Characters: not everyone was too ugly or good looking in GF1 everyone had their charms but in GF2 man people are just not fun to look at, they are just so bland and unappealing gear is not looking good and I try to mix and match some outfits here and there trying to make them look interesting but man it was very difficult, I'm sure there will be better armor eventually but from the start is very difficult to fine psychical comfort with my characters. Skill Tree: love the skill tree is very POE like in the sense of having many things and be able to create your own path rather than limiting it to a couple of choices. Game Features: Sense button is horrible, before there was a skill that let's you be more perceptive and allow you to focus automatically in looteable things around you now if you do not look into the control/keyboard keys you would not know, there is no determinating factor other than a quest that allows you to track footprints and it does not work because you can fail to look at the ground as if you roll to low on a invisible dice roll and speaking off if you fail on other civil skills you then do not have any other methods of trying a different path, "miss to lockpick?" the chest is now close forever. Overall I give the game a 4/10 you really need to nail the starting of the game to get you hype and this had me: bored, annoyed and not interested to continue. Battle could had been much better if you either make it a turn based like Divinity Original Sin or leave just the same as GF1. Characters and NPC's are very unappealing, ugly, wet and pale they lack personalities and features that makes you want to adventure with them. Yes I still recommend playing the game because I love the series and want to see it be better and grow. Experiences are different for all and this is how I experienced the game, you might see it in another way.

I knew from the first game they wanted to make a Dragon Age like game. I liked the first game and am enjoying the second one even i early access, even tho there are some more tweaks to be made. Love the combat but it needs to be faster in my opinion. Cant wait until full release!

just finished the early access. i have enjoyed the story so far, it is as good if not better than the first game combat changes where a real challenge to wrap my head around at first, not because they are difficult to understand. but they are just so different. i enjoyed the combat in greedfall 1 and was just puzzled as to why they changed it at first. honestly i am still not sure why they changed it, i played this on Tactician and barely broke a sweat in combat. pause, set up each characters combat que, unpause watch the attacks, rinse repeat. the combat in the original greedfall was janky as well, it was just a different kind of jank. if you can get past the combat changes, this game delivers a pretty fun time. i cant wait to continue the story when the game is fully released.

This game has along way to go, constantly crashing, combat system is rubbish should have kept it same as the first game. Tasks ages to load, may attention span can't take it. Camera angle not switching between combat mode. Lose the ability to select and pick up things constantly having to exit and start the game to sort this out. These issues get in the way of what could be a great game.

First off, just have to say, the new combat system is just awful. One of the reasons I loved the first Greedfall was because of the familiar yet unique combat style. This new style is garbage. It leaves you feeling removed from the game in combat and like you're just trying to play chess. Really hoping that this style is just for the beta and they actually have a combat style like in the first game. I do like the ability point system and professions or whatever they are called in the game. Allowing you to build more specific for a tank or damage or archer style. Overall I was extremely excited for this game and so far the beta has done nothing but regret my purchase. I understand it's still in beta but unless some drastic changes are made, this will be a far cry from the first Greedfall that I enjoyed so much and a waste of the money spent on it.
