best flight sim vr by far would be a competive sim with a real weather engine

If you want to fly in VR with a low spec PC FS4 is the sim for you. It's not as polished as MS2020 or 2024 but it works instantly without needing to jump through 500 hoops. I have a 2070super and 16gb of RAM and I get 72fps on average with ultra settings. Struggles a bit around big cities like Paris but I just lower my settings. You won't get the study level immersion like with other sims but you will most certainly get a flying experience that you won't with other more demanding sims unless of course you have bank account busting PC.

Great Flight Sim! Even if you don't have much raw graphics power to run this sim will perform great. I have a MacBook Air M1 and I play this just to fly some patterns and practice some instrument flying and it gets the job done very well. The aircraft designs and the flight decks are so meticulous, so polished that I sometime have difficulty understanding how my Mac is able to keep up with all this. I have tried X-Plane 11 and it's performs poorly on my machine and it doesn't even have much aircrafts, not even my own A320, and the default B737 on X-Plane is poor and a proper, functioning aircraft is locked behind a paywall (each aircraft on X-Plane can cost more than this whole game). Granted this sim will take care of the fuel planning for your flight operations because fuel is fixed (it doesn't burn no matter how much time you fly your jet), but it will let you make your own flight plans in the MCDU. No emergencies, like systems (Hydraulics, pressurisation, electrical etc.) failure. They just work. You can practice your approaches in this sim and the Global scenery DLC (free) will give you good enough terrain visuals but nothing close to MSFS. One more thing, the AIRAC data is either outdated or they made their own.

Got this as i wanted something similar to MSFS but able to run on a much weaker PC and i have to say i'm thoroughly impressed. Sure the sky box and clouds aren't great nor are coastlines or some aircraft bump maps but the terrain detail and textures i find look really good dare i say it as good as Asobo's especially over the alps. The trees towns and settlements all look better too and far less clumsy and contrived. The cockpits also look good too, nice and sharp with very good AO. Plus Vulkan Renderer is a bonus and a native Linux runtime so perfect for me. Good mix of aircraft and fully interactive cockpits are very well done and the flight model is decent too. The Helicopters are also well done and its great too see the attention to detail in the mechanical linkages being animated on things like the Robinson R22.
VR Review: Been out since 2022 and...
Tracking is pretty dodgy, anything regarding gripping or flicking is pretty indecisive. Unlike VTOL VR, you can't just move your head slightly to see where your hand is and flick/hit. You really need to put all of your focus on it, otherwise you're touching air. No in game tutorials... at all. Not even a simple text overlay, that is all that it would need. Super lazy. I'm sure the physics are great, but a combination of those two elements just make it unattractive to learn. Expected to drop out of VR, read a paragraph, jump back in, do it, jump out again...? Seriously? Lazy interface makes the game not worth the effort. Unscored.

Treat it not as a simulator, but an arcade flight game with partial simulating avionics. This is what I would refer the game to, and if you were seeking for something to practice your protocols or checklists, please turn to XP-11/12 or MSFSs. A great GAME (not a simulator) with a medium-low end simulation, good for beginners and casual players. It misses Ground Service, ATC, Fuel & Payload, and system failure simulation, but provides some essential flying experience. With the payload system absent, you won't be able to adjust the weight and CG of the aircraft making all your landings basically above or at MLW and the handling a bit sluggish, please be advised. Furthermore, the ILS system (Raw or Processed) are dislodged sometime creating a substantial discrepancy between where the actual glide slope is and where the ILS guides you to, same with the runway alignment. EDDL RNY 05L would be a great example as you'll see the Raw ILS, Processed ILS, and PAPI light all contradicting each other. Speaking of the "fully" simulated avionics, I have been primarily flying Airbus, and for your information, only partial of the avionics is simulated such as cold and dark, the basic flight plans; in some models for example, my favorite A350, even the simple direct to mode (DIR) is missing not speaking of the step climb function, detailed IEFB & FMS, flight control systems programming, and etc. (PS the plane currently has a weird ass auto roll/yaw right when you're at lower speeds without sidewinds or turbulence; THIS WILL BE EXCEPTIONALLY CONSPICUOUS IF YOU FLY IN F/O SEAT). Therefore, I'm saying, "go somewhere else if you want to practice your protocol, cuz you might not be even able to find the mode that's required for the specific simulation. The game appears to be adopting a newer engine that requires better processing units or graphic, so if you encounter too many crashes, please try lowering some graphic settings with few on ultra, this should enhance the stability. Overall, this is only a great game for casual, leisure simulation that doesn't require at least a joystick, controller, or side stick to operate, but comes at a cost of fixed payload, lack of ATC, system failure and etc. !!!!IF YOU ARE SEEKING FOR A IN DEPTH SIMULATION, PURCHASE SOMETHING ELSE FOR THE SAME PRICE!!!!!
