Yes, the store page has a big warning on it that this is a work in progress; is that a satisfactory excuse for launching with a price point nearly double what Vampire Survivors did in early access, no, very much no, considering the quality on display so far, a thousand times no. This is way too early for early access, this is the Near Midnight of Vampire Survivors clones (if you understand that reference, then you can really just skip the ranting, you know why this is bad) I think I've bought a good 20 reverse bullet hell/Survivors-likes or whatever the accepted terminology is & this is the first one that has made me think that we have entered the era of Unity Trash that we experienced in horror games. None of the weapons feel like they do anything, there are very weapon effects & no real sense of progression & with an auto-attack game, the effects & synergies/build is what you're there for. You will spend 20 to 40 minutes of your time, slowly chipping away at about 10 or so of the same zombie assets & then for some reason a decreasing circle will close in forcing you into a really small area around your spawn...because for some reason this has a battle royale mechanic. Apart from the inclusion of the circle, the most confusing thing seems like unless you choose the First Aid perk during the loadout, that there doesn't seem to be a way to heal during the run, which would probably be the most confusion decision or the most glaring oversight that I've seen in a game in a while. Major work needed to charge this much.

It's like playing Project Zomboid at 144p. The breakdown Aside from the nauseating camera change and the boggling decision to make a twin-stick shooter without mouse support, the gameplay is insanely repetitive and offers the user a masterclass in how to make a game boring. You run around for at maximum 40 minutes on the easy difficulty, hitting zombies with whatever weapon you spawn with. None of them seem to matter since they all kill the enemy in 3 hits regardless of what the damage says. Horrific UI, no tutorial, and egregious base movement speed make the game a gut-wrenching chore. Ingame quality is nothing short of a fine platter of dogsh*t. a decrepit fax machine could run a game that looks substantially better. Game is worth no more than $1, but if this gets some massive overhaul changes to make it look better and make the grind to late game substantially less tedious, it might be worth revisiting. Nominated for the best visual style because goodness gracious, it took some serious effort to make a game this fugly in 2023
