By far surpassed its prequel Kinkoi Golden Loveriche, not exaggerating at all, Kinkoi Golden Time is one of the best in the area of “character development” in all of (18+) lightheart rom-com genre vn in the market.
If you like Kinkoi Golden Loveriche, buy this ASAP.

Kinkoi: Golden Time is somewhat of an alternative telling of Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche. I highly recommend you play Golden Loveriche first, as there are far too many characters and events that don't entirely make sense otherwise.
Golden Time has a similar set up as Loveriche; there is a prologue, three new routes (and like Ria's route in Loveriche, her route in Golden Time is blocked until completing the first two routes, Ayaka and Mina), and several "append" scenarios that are 20-30 minute-long scenes for each of the remaining girls. The append scenarios are a little bit of bonus story and if you have the external patch installed, an additional H-scene.
Golden Time is a bit of a re-telling or re-imagining of the first game in that the prologue is set up as a sort of flashback, but it doesn't follow any of the routes in Loveriche. The timeline and events line up such that it would be as if Ouro didn't choose a route in the first game; though he knows certain things about the other characters he only learns in specific routes but he isn't in a relationship with the other characters.
Overall, the new routes were good; though I think Mina's route is the second-worst in the two games, just a little better than Akane in Loveriche, but I did like Ayaka's and Ria's route, even if they didn't quite stick the landing. Ria's route has similar feels to the first game, so be prepared for that. The append content is really just fan service and frankly, I have no recollection of any of the events; they're short and mostly just seem to serve to draw out the length of the game a little bit.
I recommend Kinkoi: Golden Time to anybody that has read through Kinkoi: Loveriche. I didn't think it was quite as good as Loveriche and it's a little bit sillier in spots, in a negative way, but still a solid visual novel.
*External patch provides uncensored, non-mosaic'd scenes.
