I’ve played this game a little over seven hours and would definitely recommend this game to fans of the genre. It’s a JRPG style game, with more humor and pop culture references than average. One example is book on a shelf was titled, “Book of The Recently Possessed.” A possible Beetlejuice reference? I’m not sure but the possible subtlety is nice. The music is also a highlight of Volvalis. There is a good blend of traditional sounding tracks and some with more of a modern sound. I would also like to mention the difficulty is on the higher side, some grinding out levels to beat more difficult enemies, but overall a satisfying blend. There is also a good amount of armor and weapons to choose from, which adds to the strategy elements and also lets you choose your personal style or approach when fighting in dungeons or enemies in general. The developer says the game is around 25% complete, but from what I have played, it seems to be mostly bug and glitch free and doesn’t seem too “Early Access” to recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to playing more of this game and see where the story goes!
Pros:
*A polished Early Access game with lots of character depth and interesting villains
*Great epic sounding music
Cons:
*None I can think of atm
