"Mystery Solitaire Cthulhu Mythos" is a basic mobile-app like solitaire puzzle game. Solve various puzzle levels using Klondike style card moving and matching. It's been done a million times before, for free, and free on mobile app stores too... yet this one has a hefty price tag on it. Who knew you can just charge $5 for mobile trash? I guess Creobit does. The Russian developer, Creobit/8Floor, has copy + pasted this game an insane SEVENTY THREE TIMES onto Steam with minor reskins... why cash in on one asset if you can cash in on multiple copies of the same game? Asset flipping begins at home! Here's a list of Creobit's copy + pastes of this asset:

Dangerous Solitaire. Zombie Fever
Dark Solitaire. Mystical Circus
Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic and the Man Without Face
Detective Solitaire Inspector Magic
Detective Solitaire The Ghost Agency 1 + 2
Detective Solitaire. Butler Story 1 + 2
Detective Solitaire: Inspector Magic And The Forbidden Magic
Egypt Solitaire. Match 2 Cards
Fairytale Solitaire. Witch Charms
Fairytale Solitaire: Red Riding Hood
Gnomes Solitaire
Holiday Solitaire Easter
Knight Solitaire 1-3
Mystery Solitaire Cthulhu Mythos 1, 2 + 3
Mystery Solitaire The Arkham Spirits
Mystery Solitaire. Dreamcatcher 1-3
Mystery Solitaire. Powerful Alchemist 1-3
Mystery Solitaire. The Black Raven 1-4
Mystery Solitaire: Grimm's tales 1-8
Pirate's Solitaire 1 + 2
Restaurant Solitaire Delicious Lunch
Restaurant Solitaire: Pleasant Dinner
Solitaire Beach Season 2
Solitaire Beach Season 3
Solitaire Beach Season 1-3
Solitaire Bonbon
Solitaire Christmas. Match 2 Cards
Solitaire Christmas
Solitaire Halloween 1 + 2
Solitaire Jack Frost Winter Adventures 1-3
Solitaire Legend of the Pirates 1-3
Solitaire Match 2 Cards. Thanksgiving Day
Solitaire Match 2 Cards. Valentine's Day
Solitaire TED and PET
Solitaire Victorian Picnic 1 + 2
Strike Solitaire 1-3
Sweet Solitaire: School Witch 1-3
True Detective Solitaire 1 + 2
These are all reskins of exactly the same game! What value is there in this spam/pollution glutting the Steam store for gamers? From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio (with some lazy "wings" to fill the pillar). It's possible they developed this using an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes this might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 4 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. "Mystery Solitaire Cthulhu Mythos" has the scam price of around $5 USD (for other people's work), it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.

Don't be fooled by the exciting sounding title. There is no mystery, and yes it is Cthulu themed but that's largely just background. This is a solitaire puzzle through and through. Yes there are lots of different arrangements, and the levels have to be completed by finding all of the special cards rather than clearing the deck, but this is largely all the variations. There are three purchaseable cards (bought through the points you have earned) - a 'mulligan' which allows you to undo your previous move, a shuffle to shuffle all the cards around, and a joker to put down as any card. I played through all levels on the first level of difficulty and it was ok, but there's not much variation. The Cthulu theme is solely restricted to the beautiful background art but that's it - no animations, no story, nothing. If you're just looking for a solitaire game with a little twist, I'd go for Faery Solitaire as it has much more variation.

Nice little solataire game. Enjoyable so far. Update - I no longer feel like I can recommend this game. It is a solitaire game but, once you've played it awhile, it becomes a little stale. I would not recommend this, maybe if it were free!

Alright. Mystery Solitaire Cthulhu Mythos is....a very boring game. I only paid 49 cents for this one, so I'm not gonna be too bent out of shape over it, but as cool as the title sounds and as nice as the product page looks, this game does not live up to any of that. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3246916940 With a title like that, you would expect some sort of story to go along with it. Nope. While the actual Solitaire levels are perfectly passable, they aren't particularly noteworthy and get stale pretty quickly. There are three wrinkles to the game outside of a small variety of Solitaire level designs. You earn credits while playing that can be used to by jokers, which are treated as wild cards, mulligans which roll back your last decision as implied by the name, and shuffle, which shuffles the remaining cards on the table. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3247160678 Rather than match suits or do anything notably solitaire related, your goal is only to stack sequential cards into your discard pile in order to reveal special cards that boost your credits and to reveal and use all gold cards on the table. You have to try and play all the gold cards, at which point you win regardless of how many other cards are left on the table. You can complete a level without using them all by simply using all the cards in your deck, but for a perfect score, that is what is required. Actually, your deck of cards to pull from when you run out of options is this game's main connection to real Solitaire best I can tell. It has been brought to my attention after buying this game that the developer reskins and resells this exact same game and has many many many many variations of the same game on Steam, with a variety of names. And the publisher promotes many games that employ this same method of development. Although this doesn't factor into my review rating, it is worth noting before you send your cash their way. To me, it is indicative of the lack of imaginative or innovative development you can expect from such games IMO. That's basically all I have to say about this game. If you are looking for a completely casual experience, that can be found here. If you are looking for anything else at all or have the expectation of some cool factor the title implies exists, don't bother. Personally, I was not impressed. It's barely Solitaire and doesn't even bother trying to live up to its name. There are better and much more fun Solitaire options on Steam that actually respect your time and money.
