My best friend and I (clarinet bus buddies for life) played this game together and absolutely loved it. All of the characters were well written and the story was captivating!!!! Going into this game I didn't expect to both laugh and cry as hard as I did but here we are. I absoluletly loved every minute of it and can't recommend this game enough!

This is such an absolutely charming and adorable indie game! I've been following the development for a while and I'm so pleased to say that the final product lived up to all my expectations. Though I never went to band camp in real life, this game really gave me the feeling of being in a band and fighting to whip up my fellow students so we could win a tournament... while finding love along the way. I laughed out loud at so many of the funny jokes, enjoyed the hell out of so many silly moments (a stand-out one being playing videogames with the boys and stealing a star from poor Clark), and really just had a great time. Plus, Clark and Poptart are both hilarious and adorable and I loved wooing them both. This is seriously such a cute, fun, lighthearted game with great comedy and romance moments. Totally recommend!

Band Camp Boyfriend is a charming indie game with a music theme that impresses with its excellent art and sound design. It takes place in a band camp and offers players the chance to shape the story through branching story-lines and multiple endings, providing an enjoyable and immersive experience. The game's memorable cast of characters, each with unique quirks and flaws, are among its highlights. As an Otome game, Band Camp Boyfriend features a compelling and immersive narrative that will appeal to both fans of the genre and newcomers. The game's humor and jokes are well-executed and kept me entertained throughout. Overall, Band Camp Boyfriend is a must-play for anyone looking for an engaging and fun gaming experience. Some of the music terminology went over my head, but I do not feel it is necessary to enjoy the game. Don't forget the importance of proper hydration!

Thus far, I have only completed two endings, both of them bad. However, despite witnessing horrors beyond comprehension and crying once more over a fictional man, I can say this: This game is phenomenal. No, no, hear me out. When you Google Band Camp Boyfriend, the label "survival game" pops up under it. For those of you unfamiliar with marching band, every rehearsal is a matter of survival. High school, college, or drum corps, you need to be there and be dedicated if you expect to survive. BCB is no different. It keeps you on your toes. You wanted a silly little otome game, you are both in the right place and the wrong one. Think Fujiwara Bittersweet: cute and silly on the outside, but it could jump out at you when you least expect it. But a marching band otome, you say, doesn't that sound silly? Oh, it absolutely is. Expect some fourth wall breaking while you're at it. If you're a marching band kid like I am, you're going to laugh, and you're going to cry. Every single character is probably going to remind you of someone in your own marching band, from Poptart the mellophone rookie to Tom the bonehead. Even Mr. Wiley, bless his beard, might give you horrible flashbacks, depending on the scene. ("WHO WROTE THIS DRILL?" "You did, sir.") All of these characters and scenes are a labor of love and marching band nostalgia, and having just finished up my final marching season myself this year, it is a welcome turn down memory lane. Even if you’re not familiar with marching band, there’s a helpful glossary that pops up every time a marching band phrase is used. Your band might not be quite like the Marching Bandits, you’ll find yourself wanting to hang out with these kooky kids. They’ll become your family soon enough, even if you do want to punch them occasionally (Felicity, I’m looking at you). There is something charming about each of the possible boyfriends, and while Tom is most certainly my favorite (I like a guy who can make me laugh), Peter has to be a close second. Sometimes. Even then, I find myself loving every single character and wanting to experience four years of marching band with them. That said, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Yes, on the outside, this is a fancy free band camp story, but there is a reason the devs put content warnings in the game and on their website. Some bonkers stuff happens. As you’re reminded often—almost creepily so—this is a video game. It could get weird at any second. And oh, does it. That said, please take care of yourself, and if you don’t want to get messed up like I did (whoops), follow the helpful walkthroughs on Lovebird Games’s website to help you get only the happy stuff. Yet even though I despise bad endings and try my best not to get them in most of the games I play… the ones I did play are very well done. Is any of this believable? Well, I certainly hope not. Do the endings HIT? Oh, absolutely. There is no beating around the bush. You’re not getting out of this season easily. But along the way, at least you get some nice, sweet moments and cute smiles from the marching band boy of your dreams. (Tom is everything to me now. EVERYTHING.) Be careful out there, kids. As for the romance itself, though I’ve only been experiencing the wonder and hilarity of Tom (no wonder he’s last in the recommended order, he’s too funny), what I’ve gotten so far has been exceptional. Yes, I’m still blushing from some of the things he’s said or done. Yes, I’m entirely sure Peter would do that to me, too (he was already halfway there when I was maybe-sorta flirting with him as well as Tom). I’m confident that the rest of the routes do something along these same lines. Like I said, every boy in this game is lovable in some way (even Drum and Drummer), and the romance is just soft and sweet enough that anything else that comes your way will hopefully pale in comparison. I could go on about how much I love the witty banter in the writing, or the fact that the pause button is the musical notation for a grand pause, or the amazingly detailed and careful art by an artist I’ve seen before and absolutely ADORE… but I won’t. You’ll have to experience that for yourself. I am absolutely biased toward this game that I’ve been waiting for since I was a freshman in my college marching band. My marching band blood makes me automatically love this game because of its subject matter. But it is not a lie to say this is a wonderful first game made by very caring and considerate developers who poured their entire beings into this. As a member of their Discord server, I have happily eaten up the WIP Wednesdays and slowly fallen in love with the characters through Screenshot Saturdays. In a world full of devs who turn out to be selfish or greedy or just plain rude, these devs are awesome. I love them and their work dearly, and I’m so happy that I stumbled upon this game entirely by accident back when it was still just a demo. Now why the hell did you read this entire review? GO PLAY THE GAME!!!

Was highly looking forward to picking this one up after genuinely enjoying the demo and so far i'm having a wonderful time and really enjoy some of the jokes throughout. as for pros and cons: Pros: -Great selection of guys to pick from each character feels fun and fleshed out -Few innuendos and great little pieces of melodrama for that lovely pg 13 feel which I love -Despite partial voice acting it still helps give a feel for the characters so I would add this as a pro -Each branching narrative (only on Peter so far) feels great and there are so many moments to switch up story pieces -Good humor Cons: -For now my biggest issue would be dialogue can be a bit tricky to read even with my glasses on mayhaps the colors just clash a little too much for reading legibility For now no other cons as ive only played about 1 hour outside the demo may update pros/cons as I go. I definitely am going with a thumbs up and recommend for certain to English Otome lovers or even anyone who enjoys a little romantic romp and some good old melodrama at band camp with a dash of hijinks and humor. Great game!

This game gives a lot of content and many great story lines that were so much fun to discover! It's LGBTQ-friendly and very modern in views and let's face it: the main character is badass!

I will not give away the story, but I will say that it was not what I expected. I thought it would be just goofy and, while it is in some parts, it also has depth and a great story to it. I loved all of the characters and saw some of my band friends in the faces of these characters. It also made me VERY nostalgic. I miss band and wish I could go back to relive it sometimes. The camaraderie in band is something I only felt there. Marching Band is a feeling I never thought I'd get to feel again, but this made me remember all of those feelings. You can tell that the creators really loved this project and you can tell they are some fellow band geeks. This visual novel is now in my favorites and I can't wait to do another play through. Just for funsies, I marched with my trombone a few years but I was also in guard one of those years! ❤

Okay. I've played only but one route so far, but I have to say that I've waited a long time for this game and when I say that it was well worth the wait. The writing is wonderful; you can really feel the emotions of the characters, each one has their own unique personality, issues, flaws, and strengths. They feel so lifelike and are just so damn lovable. I also genuinely had some moments of squealing like Susie did and the same shock, dread, anguish, and happiness that the cast would feel in some moments. When I say I recommend this game, I can't say that enough. Now, the music. It's a band camp game, of course there will be music. The soundtrack is so wonderful and fits the occasions. I usually play games with other videos or music going, but for this I decided not to so I could experience the soundtrack in full while playing and boy. If it sounds this wonderful with one route... then I can't wait to hear the other tracks. I can't say much else because words can't fully articulate the happiness I experienced from this game so far, even with just the one route. I'm so excited to play the rest and, once again, I can't recommend playing this game enough. If you even think you would have the slightest inkling towards playing this game, then try out the demo and join band camp with the rest of us. You'll enjoy the ride.

If you want to go back to high school and remember the thrill of having adventures with your friends, while building friendships and trying to survive band camp... then this game is for you! (Attention to the word "survival" because the game becomes dark, friends. Be careful!) The dialogues are fun and the protagonist is certainly one of the best characters in the game! WHAT A BADASS! So let's get to the routes... And the first route played was Peter's. Peter is a controversial guy that you want to kiss and punch at the same time, he may be a little shit but there's no denying he's charming. Even though I didn't like the way he and the protagonist got together (you have to respect girl code, as Susie said) and
how he broke up with Felicity (I mean, that was a big no no)
, he managed to redeem himself in the final chapters. <3 In the end, the route was very sweet and we found out that he is a romantic and protective guy. I like characters that evolve over the course of the story and I think Peter has great character development. In short, he managed to make me completely fall in love. Garth's route was the second one I did and … wow, I definitely DIDN'T EXPECT this one!
I was curious to know how he had just disappeared in Peter's route and here we find out what happened
Poor Garth! In fact, I particularly recommend leaving this route for the finale, as it can give you anxiety about playing the final route.
It's also pretty short as it ends in Chapter 6 (for reasons I can't reveal).
The next one was… Tom. If in Peter's route the romance already starts in the first chapters, in this route things only unfold towards the end. Tom's route is like a "common route" with several characters appearing and helping you. It really represents "friendship"! As for the romance... well, those who like friends to lovers will like it, it's a cute route and has several flashbacks to how they met and became friends. I haven't played all the routes yet, but it's almost like this is the "true route" (as much as I don't like that term). It was a cute and heart warming route! And next is Clark! Oh god, that route went from heaven to hell real quick. I mean, in the beginning it was incredibly funny and the dynamic between Clark and Cadence was amazing! Bullying Clark has become one of my favorite activities (sorry not sorry Clark). But then... BOOM! Everything started to fall apart. And once again the protagonist shows why she is the most BADASS character in this game! (Did I ever say she's the best character? No? SHE IS! Forget the boys, Cadence is the best!). And Clark, well, I'd say one minute you want to protect him from the world's hate and the next you want to drown him in a lake while the leeches take care of him.. Don't expect too much romance in this route either, actually there's less than Tom's (but at least he has the best epilogue so far). And Tom... oh Tom, I'm starting to see why they say you're the best boy <3 I'll never forget your loyalty. I really don't know what to say about this route, there were so many different emotions, but it has several of my favorite moments. And then comes Poptart… … … I heard there is a Poptart Protection Association? Is that true? Where do I sign up to become a member? My heart ached here, I won't deny it. It's a pretty heavy route.
I have a bit of a problem with yanderes, but I think his troubled past justified it well.
The ending was pretty emotional too, the whole second home story got me.
And Bandit helping find Melvin at the end was perfect. <3
THESE ROUTES ARE BREAKING ME DOWN AND STILL 3 LEFT! (Will I be able to survive Band Camp?) And next is Samuel. And I thought that Peter's route was the charming and romantic one in the game, but Sam is not far behind! Samuel is chill and his and Cadence's dynamic is super cute! If on Clark's route everything that can go wrong does go wrong, I'd say that on this one everything goes smoothly (Or is it just because it's my sixth route? I don't know). Sam is a calm person and his route is just like him, sweet and calm
(I mean, if even Mr. Wiley's heart was touched, then how can we poor mortals resist?) <3
And the last one (before the big finale) is Doug! Sorry to leave you last, Doug, but you're not my type lol. Overall, it was a pretty fun route, mostly because of the drummers dynamic. Also, we can also get to know Marian better, I didn't think I would like her so much! And it's one of the routes with the best epilogue! (super sweet) The fact that Alex falls in love with a different girl on each route kills me lol XD This kid has the potential to be even worse than Petter! And then the final route… BEST ROUTE! It's it. As much as I love romance, the best thing about this game isn't the romance, it's seeing the marching band family dynamic and we get a lot of that on this route. A reward for suffering. <3 Garth is also very cute in this route, love him <3
And Mr. Savage's case finally revealed, I didn't expect that from Felicity <3
And obviously… AARONNN <3 I loved the moments with him (Fandisk with his route when? XD) It's hard to pick a favorite guy, everyone managed to charm me in some way, but in the end... my favorite was Peter <3 and then Tom and Clark <3 This game is amazing! As someone who has been following the development for the past 2 years at least, I have to say that it DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! The game was made with a lot of care! If you like otome games, play the game! If you like marching band, play the game! If you don't like either one, PLAY THE GAME ANYWAY!
