Very interesting "sequel" to Naissancee. It has a lot of potential to become something extraordinary. Keep up the amazing work !

The material presented thus far is intriguing, but of course (it goes without saying) unfinished. What Limasse Five accomplished with NaissancE is practically beyond praise. I mean, how many other video game developers have come close to creating such a jaw dropping, astonishing world? The makers of Inside? Pathologic 2? Portal 2? There's not many games that can compare in terms of the world building. No wonder so many players have described NaissancE as "a religious experience." I'm confident that, in it's finalized form, "SenS" will be yet another masterpiece. The preliminary physical environments on display here are gloriously wonderful and strange, no doubt about it, but that would be expected. The {written) dialogue segments really point to something interesting being developed, I think. It somehow put me in mind of Don DeLillo's "Zero K," which is about individuals seeking immortality via advanced cryo-preservation technologies. In the novel, there's actually a sentience after death but it's essentially like being alone in a dark room with only your thoughts to keep you company. Eerie, to be sure. In "SenS," you have different individuals (team members?) that you're able to communicate with, thank God, so it's not nearly as bleak. It's every bit as strange, though, but that's what you want from a developer like Limasse Five. Some of the more negative reviews here are perhaps expecting a bit too much/too soon. We should support developers like this, who are making real, breathtaking art via video games. As opposed to things like Zombie Dungeon Volcano parts 6, 7 and 8. Lord knows we don't need anymore of that.

SenS is strange, thus far. I'm interested to see where it goes. Is it a novel? An exploration game? A surreal animation? All three? Time will tell in the coming years. 17 dollars is relatively steep for most people at this point, but I look at it as something of an investment. NaissanceE is one of my favorite games of all time, and I am happy to put money behind its successor. Think of it like... backing a kickstarter project. Less of "paying 17 dollars for an hour and change of game." It will grow more, soon. I believe in the future of SenS.

Update for version 0.007 (July 13th 2023): There are now three separate areas to explore, of which two demonstrates various gameplay concepts. Definitely an improvement compared to earlier versions. You can skip directly to the chapter or demo you want to play. The game is still in a very early pre-alpha state, so don't expect a proper game in any capacity. As it stands right now, it's just a loose collection of concepts and a few small 3D environments. Should you buy SenS already now? Probably not. Even the developer recommends against it. I wanted to get in early and thought it was worth it, but anyone else is advised to wait. ★★★ Original review (May 21st 2022): The first public prototype does take a while to get started, but the dialogue during the first half hour suggests several interesting concepts and I can really see the potential. Later, you get rewarded with exploring a few areas, and some of them gave me a bit of vertigo, because of the huge scale. Don't expect a lot of exploration this early, although you do get some of that too. Great sound design throughout. If you decide to get in this early, my best advice is to manage your expectations and you'll be fine. With that said, there is a lot of potential to both reach and surpass NaissanceE, but it _will_ take a bit of time. While I do have high expectations for what Sens could become, we are not there yet. My second best advice for best enjoying the current SenS-prototype (May 21st 2022) is to have some patience (while tension and foundation is being built for what comes later) and you will be rewarded.

To be perfectly clear: From the little I have played I have not the slightest idea what this game will be in the end. The premise hooked me right away, but that's all for now. What I know for sure is that this developer created one of the strongest arguments for the statement, that games can not only be more than mindless distraction from reality, whereof I still hope many people can agree on, but also pure art, made real by masters of their craft, and as such at eye level with all the other arts, and therefore not distracting from reality (that too, of course), but being an important part of it, as something that makes it more worth living in. The game I'm talking about is NaissanceE. It's free on steam, and everyone should give it a chance. It's not for everyone, though, so be warned. :D SenS is something else. It isn't finished and it will probably take a long time to be. But it's a bet for something great, and like every bet it could went out in ways not desired or foreseen. And I think everyone who can relate to my drivel in the slightest should make this bet.

it appears to be some kind of a weird practical joke? To clarify: it starts with a poorly written unskippable dialog that goes on forever, and then at some point the screen starts flashing as if it actually wants to induce seizures, or at least a migraine. Which is when I closed the game and asked for a refund. It's a great example of how NOT to start your game. Like, seriously, the entire audience of SenS is going to be people who liked NaissainceE. Start with the world.

This dude made NaissancE, a game about walking around empty cities. I love this guy.

45 minutes of reading a book followed by about 5 minutes of gameplay. Not worth playing in the current state.

Dont buy this game if you are expecting more Naissance. In its current state, the game is mostly an amateur short story with some funky visuals to accompany the words. This game is certainly in VERY VERY early access, but let's hope that the devs improve upon it. Some feedback: - The intro needs to be WAY shorter. Maybe one tenth of the current length. Another option would be to make all the dialogue skippable - The pacing for the dialogue is all over the place. Sometimes a paragraph will popup and you can skip immediately to the next sentence, and other times you have to wait 30 seconds staring at five words that don't have any narrative impact. - Maybe don't use current hot button political topics in your intro? To me at least, this seems tasteless and kind of just an attention grab. Personally, I would use In-World lore topics for that scene for some world building. Currently it serves no purpose other to exist and to shock, maybe? Tonally it seems out of place. - Onto the very limited gameplay: I don't know if it's just me not being able to beat the cuphead tutorial, but I would appreciate SOME kind of direction prior to the first explorable level. It doesn't need to be overkill, but having some idea of what I'm supposed to try and do while in a detailed box would help tremendously. - The controls here are pretty clunky. My character feels like they are wading through two and a half feet of syrup, and it is hard for me to get my character from laying prone to standing. I end up doing a little dance for like ten seconds trying to get to the right height. - Lastly, with so much narrative exposition for the majority of the game so far, the exploration sections, in my opinion, can't be silent and directionless. The game so far built up my expectations that exploration would have some kind of plot guidance or direction. Being plopped in a level is jarring after so much exposition. Naissance worked because you were exploring for exploration's sake. Adding in plot elements means (to me) that you can't just drop the plot and present gameplay, both need to be connected. All in all, currently I would only recommend buying this game to support the continued development. Do not expect anything entertaining for a bit. (PS as another personal note, during gameplay sections please use black text. I know the font has a black outline, but it isn't thick enough to distinguish the writing from the stark white walls. Its hard to read the little bits of plot that are included when they blend into the background.)

Naissance is the best game I've played. And my review of it is the reason why I do not like this one. So much incoherent, abysmal and unneeded words (reasons). The mystery that Naissance was, is it's beauty (though the whole meaning is glorified in it's name). This 'plot' of SenS strangles the atmosphere, the possible growth of idea. My appreciation for Naissance is unending (partly for the introduction to Pauline Oliveros - Deep Listening). Give us the reason to explore the world you create not by hollow plot, but with structure's build, with it's barely comprehensive existence and meaning. The 'Birth' is a masterpiece for so many profound reasons... For now, SenS lacks most of them. I urge you to reconsider the introduction (or the whole) story. As the last note. This is my own opinion, nothing more and nothing less.
