Starts strong, but quickly devolves as "Gotcha" enemies frustratingly unbalance the game.

charming, detailed pixel art and music can't save this runner game from its abysmal controls, frustrating design, and tedious waits to get back into the game upon dying. you could watch the entirety of Gettysburg in the time it takes to restart a level in this game.

A fun, albeit short sidescroller platformer. The music is really nice and by the end I wasn't surprised to see a thanks to Terry Pratchett in the credits given the themes. There's not a huge variety of obstacles to deal with and you can store three MP to either double jump and float or to stomp and disable enemies. Higher difficulty increases the scrolling speed, removes health pickups (hard), or sets your health to 1HP (ultra, unlocked after beating hard). There are no checkpoints in levels, so if you die you restart from the beginning of that level but this shouldn't be a huge issue as they're only a few minutes each. It took about 45 minutes to finish a first play on hard and about an hour on ultra. Getting all the achievements required an additional playthrough on easy or normal and then playing through all the endless levels once along with getting a pretty high score on one of them (I opted for the first level - endless appears to go faster than ultra but eventually caps its speed). Despite the short length I'd recommend giving it a shot if you like platformers.

An incredible game boasting an endearing OST I've had the pleasure of listening to. The stylish visuals paired with a heartening track playing in the background makes traversing through the areas a stunning adventure I just can't get sick of. You truly feel this is a passion project - one I'm grateful getting to experience.
