Low stress model train...simulation? The aesthetics are adorable. I would like to be able to put multiple trains on the same island...the best model train layouts have multiple things going on, so I would like to see that here also. I keep trying to click-drag-pan, so I'm not sure if that's an option some how either. Great work overall. Sandbox is not usually my thing but I've enjoyed this very much.

An amazing chill game to just get lost in building your own cute small towns, islands, mountains, and rail lines. If you enjoy just having a sandbox to make your own small little world this game definitely will hit that spot. I recommend it if you just want a nice cozy game where you make your own little town :)

Damn this game is mad relaxing—I’m out here bringing my childhood train dreams to life 🚂✨. But fr, can we get more trains? I mean the game’s called Islands and Trains, plural! 😭 I’ve already built 4 islands but only got one lonely train hauling everything from people to trees across the whole map lol.

It's a nice game but I have two problems with it
-You can only have one train per world which was disappointing
-There's a massive issue with the saving feature and my save files keep getting removed. It's frustrating when you put a lot of effort into making a nice world and it's all just gone afterward. So far every save I've made has just disappeared and been replaced with a blank save, and it's put me off from playing more since I know it's just going to get deleted.
I can't even refund the game because I spent more then two hours making my first world, and it's just gone.
Sorry to do a bad review on a game that's feels like it's had so much love put into it, but this bug should really be fixed soon.

It's super close to being amazing. There's just a few things that result into it being annoying. Changing between building/destroying feels like a chore. Now, it might be I'm missing a hotkey here, but there's no place to find them except the tutorial.
When using windowed mode, often the 'click' gets stuck when changing windows. This can result in clicking being on while going over your creation. When in destruction mode I've had moments where I've destroyed quite a lot.
I couldn't find a way to report these issues unfortunately.
The game is close to being great, but I feel like it could've used some more testing. I'll certainly won't refund though, and will update my review when it's there.

This game is great, its got an amazing low poly art style and quaint soundtrack, and as a train and model railway enthusiast this game is right up my ally.
it took some getting used to with the controls and there are some questionable choices, you can rebind the keys but it does not let you bind anything to left or right click
as much as i love this game its got some problems that can become deal breakers with long play-sessions
one issue is that you can only have one train at a time. in a game about trains and creating layouts for them having multiple trains going around is a given
the next issue that i found hard to work around is the grid system and how most items cannot be placed inside each other, when placing a cliff you have to delete the terrain placed to fit in a cliff, allowing the cliff to clip into the terrain would remove this issue and this goes for many items. this isn't the only limitation of the grid system, i have noticed that most buildings doors cannot be positioned to paths and a lot of items take up far to much space or cant be put closer
for track placing the grid is great but you are again limited by the grid, creating more gradual realistic curves is impossible, this game would benefit from a similar system to the game rolling lines, that game has the option to disable a grid when not wanted and items can clip into others allowing for much more detail

- train station interaction
- WAY bigger build area (when i discovered the build limits i was like: NO WHY....LET ME BUILD ENDLESSLY)
- ironing out most of the bugs when tackled this list
i paid full price to support this duo

I've only played the tutorial and played around with building, so take my opinion with a grain of salt - I'm mostly just leaving a review to give the devs some feedback.
I love the vibe and the general gameplay, but I think my biggest issue at the moment is, I see all these beautiful landscapes in the screenshots and trailer, but it's kinda hard and tedious to do all of that from scratch! I wish the game came with a few pre-built islands in different biomes that the player could expand upon and improve.
Other room-for-improvement items:
- right-click-delete
- more than one train
- train whistle could sound better and use 3D audio, and I'd love to see the train react visually - choo choo!
That being said, the game is cheap and cute and anyone reading this should support the devs!

So far, a really great game! A few improvements could make it feel even more alive.
Add people: Just like there are animals, why not include humans too? Maybe they could even be transported by train! But even if that’s not possible, just having people walking around would make the world feel much less empty.
More decorations: Yes, there’s already quite a lot – but you can never have too much decoration!
More trains: The title says "trains", but currently we can only have one...
An option for trains to automatically start and stop at stations.
Weather animations (like snow, fog...) would also bring the world to life.
The game is already super cute, and I’ll definitely spend more hours with it. But these features would make it feel even more vibrant and immersive!
