This type of game has some real potential but the turn based and graphics were a poor choice
a rune factory type game in a Murim setting certainly sounds fun.
hope this game inspires similar games

honestly the translation has kind of grown on me. its still poor, couplet tests particularly are impossible without a guide, nevertheless its a good intro to the wuxia genre
(I have more hours on the mobile version)

This is one of my favorite games. Tutorial and general usage on the Steam Deck could be better. But more than playable.

First of all I'm going to start by saying that I love the wuxia genre, I read a ton of comics of that style, so if you don't like that genre this game is not for you. If, like me, you like the genre then you are looking at a masterpiece, I will explain why I say so. My first recommendation is to play without reading any guide or looking for information about the game, at least your first game, it doesn't seem like it at first but this game is quite a sandbox, it has many decisions that have short and long term consequences, some more obvious than others, the game lets you do whatever you want, you can save lives and be a hero or walk around the world stealing and killing, the story is the same but the side where you are and the role you play is different. My first game I played as a complete novice who did not understand anything about the game or the world and your character represents that state, I made my decisions, some of which I regretted later when it led to a bad ending and game over. The brilliant thing happened when I started my second game, without spoilers I can say that this game has a mechanic designed to be played more than once, the archiveminds that you earn in the game give you points to spend on traits that make your character more powerful from the beginning, but not only that, how you approach the story knowing largely what is going to happen makes you feel like in a wuxia manga where your character is a regressor and retains the memories of his past life and that blew my mind, in my first game I stumbled over all the mechanics and the order of the missions without mentioning secrets that I discovered at the end of the game but that I could have taken advantage of at the beginning of the game, that detail made my second game awesome. It seems to me that this game is designed to be played multiple times but in a different way and totally blind, because the discovery of some secret that can be used for the next game has no comparison.
It is obvious that this is a genre that I enjoy a lot and unfortunately there are not many games that capture the feeling in the way I would like, so if you are like me this game is highly recommended, not to mention the DLC that adds history.

i've been engrossed in reading Chinese cultivator comics, and this game is like everything i wanted (mostly). the graphics may feel a lil basic but i feel it adds character to the game, it doesnt detract from it.
i'm not finished with my first playthrough, but so far i can some areas where they can improve like adding more diverse manuals, but in terms of story and difficulty i think they did the best job balancing those aspects and still making the gameplay fun and fast.

Aside from the rough translation, this game is one of the most fun RPG I ever played.
Tons of recruitable characters with their own quests and storylines is what I like the most in this game.
I hope the developers can find the time and the budget to fix the english translation.

I've sunk so many hours into this game over the past few days. There is just so much content. In some aspects, its like an immersive sim. Can't beat a boss? poison him with or ambush him. Blocked by someone from entering a cave? upgrade your relationship with them or lure them out and stealth kill him. Even in the side areas I'm finding so much content. English translation need some work though, I speak Chinese so I can kinda guess what the English is trying to say sometimes. 9/10

Hero's Adventure: Road to Passion is a good game with many aspects that I enjoy. However, the biggest problem is the language. The English translation is poor, making it difficult to fully appreciate the dialogue, riddles, and deeper connections to Chinese culture. While the translation is enough to understand the main story, it still leaves me feeling disconnected from the experience.
Another major downside is the lack of clear enemy level indicators and guidance on which zones to play. I understand that secrets, surprises, and replayability are core aspects of Eastern-style games, similar to the Rance series from Japan, which I enjoy. However, this alone is not enough to compensate for the game’s poor optimization and lack of clear gameplay design.
If there were a "neutral" review option, I would choose it. But since there isn't, I will go with a negative review. Instead of continuously adding more content, I believe the developers should first focus on improving the game’s level design, balance, and overall structure.

Such an incredible game. The translation is pretty eh, but that wouldn't stop us from understanding the story. The main story is ok, but the companion and world quests are just so good. Man Toulou and Sun Yougi's quests brought tears to my eyes. I play without a guide in nightmare mode for my 1st run and after 70 hours I have yet to reach the true ending yet. It's well worth your money.
100% Recommend. I hope the dev can continue to expand this incredible world and may improve it for global reach in their future games.
